Al-Muqtadir (الْمُقْتَدِرُ)
🕊️ Meaning
The One of Perfect Power. Allah has complete power and authority over His creation. Nothing can resist His command or place a limit upon what He is capable of doing.
🌙 Reflection
We often think of power as the ability to make something happen. But Allah’s power is far beyond that. He created the heavens and the earth, established their order, and continues to govern every part of creation.
Nothing happens outside His knowledge or authority.
When we look at the world around us, we are seeing the work of Al-Muqtadir. The changing of the seasons, the movement of the stars, the growth of a tiny seed into something living, and the countless systems that keep creation in order all point toward a power far greater than anything we possess.

“Ya Muqtadir, You have complete power over all things. Keep my heart in awe of Your greatness, increase me in certainty of You, and allow me to recognize Your power throughout Your creation.”

🕊️ Meaning
The All-Powerful. Allah has complete power over all things. Nothing is difficult for Him, and nothing can prevent what He wills.
🌙 Reflection
Think about what Allah does without effort from us. He brings the morning after the night, causes rain to fall, brings life from the earth, and creates every person with their own face, voice, and story.
We experience His power constantly, yet because these things happen every day, we can forget how extraordinary they are.
Al-Qādir reminds us to look around and recognize the signs of a power far beyond our own. The One who created all of this is not limited by what seems impossible to us.

“Ya Qādir, You are capable of all things. Allow me to recognize Your power in Your creation, strengthen my certainty in You, and grant me what is good for me according to Your wisdom.”

As-Samad (الصَّمَدُ)
🕊️ Meaning
The Eternal Refuge. Allah is the One whom all creation turns to in its needs. He is perfect, self-sufficient, and completely free of need, while everything depends upon Him.
🌙 Reflection
There is something deeply humbling about realizing how dependent we are.
Every moment of our existence depends upon Allah. We need Him before we even know that we need Him. Yet Allah does not need us. He is complete without His creation, while creation could not exist for even a moment without Him.
This is part of what makes As-Samad so profound. When we turn to Allah, we aren’t turning to someone who is limited like us. We are turning to the One who has no need of anyone and yet invites us to ask Him for everything.
So bring your needs to Him. The things you are afraid to say out loud, the things you don’t know how to solve, and even the things you think are too ordinary to mention. Allah is As-Samad. 🤍

“Ya Samad, You are the One upon whom all creation depends. Let my heart turn to You for every need, and never let me forget how completely dependent I am upon You.”

Al-Wāḥid (الْوَاحِدُ)
🕊️ Meaning
The One. Allah is uniquely One in His essence, His names and attributes, and His right to be worshipped. Nothing is equal to Him, and nothing can be compared to Him.
🌙 Reflection
We naturally attach our hearts to many things. We love people, care about our work, value our possessions, and have hopes and dreams for our future. But everything we love besides Allah is limited. People can change, things can disappear, and circumstances can turn in ways we never expected.
Allah is Al-Wāḥid. He is the One who remains completely unique and incomparable through all of it.
Knowing Him as Al-Wāḥid reminds us that our hearts were never meant to treat anything created as though it were our ultimate source of love, hope, or worship. We can love His creation deeply while still knowing that no one and nothing can take the place that belongs to Allah alone.
That is part of the beauty of Tawḥīd. It gives the heart one ultimate direction. 🤍

“Ya Wāḥid, make my heart devoted to You. Let me love what You have created without allowing anything to compete with my love for You, and keep my worship sincere for You alone.”

Al-Mājid (الْمَاجِدُ)
🕊️ Meaning
The Most Glorious. Allah is perfect in His greatness, noble in His attributes, and magnificent in His actions. All true glory and honor belong to Him.
🤲 When to call upon Him
Call upon Al-Mājid when you want to praise Allah for His greatness and perfection, or when you want your heart to recognize that no one possesses true glory and honor like Him.
💭 How to use this name in du’a
“Ya Mājid, You are perfect in Your greatness and noble in all that You do. Increase my love and admiration for You, and make me among those who honor You as You deserve.”
🌙 Reflection
We admire greatness in the world around us. We are amazed by beautiful places, remarkable people, incredible achievements, and the vastness of creation. But all of that beauty and greatness ultimately points back to its Creator. Allah is Al-Mājid, and His glory is beyond anything we can fully comprehend.

| 18 | We often think that being busy means we have less time for ibadah. But what if we changed the way we looked at our daily routines?
Ibadah is not limited to salah, Qur’an, dhikr, or time spent in the masjid. With a sincere intention, even the ordinary parts of our day can become acts of worship.
Going to work can be ibadah when we intend to earn halal income and fulfill our responsibilities. Cooking can be ibadah when we intend to nourish ourselves or our family. Cleaning can be ibadah when we intend to maintain a home that is pleasing to Allah. Resting can even be ibadah when we intend to regain our strength so that we can worship Allah and fulfill our responsibilities.
This doesn’t mean we should neglect our dedicated acts of worship. Salah still deserves its place in our day, and we should continue making time for Qur’an, dhikr, du‘a, and other acts of worship. But we don’t have to wait for a completely free schedule before turning back to Allah.
We can remember Him while driving, make dhikr while doing chores, listen to beneficial reminders while getting ready, say Bismillah before we begin our tasks, and make our intentions before doing the things we already have to do.
A busy life does not have to be a life distant from Allah.
Sometimes, the goal isn’t to find more hours in the day. It’s to bring Allah into the hours we already have.
So whatever fills your day, don’t underestimate the opportunity for reward within it. Make your intention, remember Allah throughout your routine, and let even the ordinary moments become a means of drawing closer to Him.
