📌 Tehran, IRNA – The Deputy Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Navy, Rear Admiral Faramarz Bemani, says the attack on the Dena destroyer exposed the enemy’s fear of Iran’s growing naval capabilities and international standing.
“Targeting of the Dena destroyer is a testament to the enemy’s fear of Iran’s naval power and its achievements on the international stage, because this destroyer is a symbol of indigenous capability, self-belief, and the will of the Iranian people,” Bemani said Wednesday at the 27th basic combat training course for national elites, held at Army Ground Forces Martyrs Training Center in Tehran.
“Dena destroyer and port vessel Makran, by circumnavigating the globe, demonstrated the naval power of the Islamic Republic of Iran and, despite sanctions, conveyed Iran’s message of peace, capability, and independence to the world,” he said.
He described the mission of Naval Fleet 86 as one of Iran’s greatest sources of pride.
The deputy commander emphasized that enemies target the strong points of the Islamic Republic, and the targeting of the Dena destroyer indicates the enemy’s fear of Iran’s maritime power and its achievements internationally.
Turning to the role of youth, he said their contribution to the Revolution’s goals was central.
He outlined the Navy’s history from ancient Iranian seafaring traditions to its current mandate, noting it now guards territorial waters, the Sea of Oman, the Indian Ocean, and the Caspian Sea in coordination with the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Navy.
He said that during the first 67 days of the eight-year imposed war, the Army Navy destroyed much of the Iraqi Ba’athist regime’s naval capacity and went on to escort thousands of commercial vessels and oil tankers to prevent economic disruption.
Bemani said Iran today is among a small number of countries capable of independently designing and building destroyers, missiles, drones, and advanced naval equipment, the result of work by domestic specialists, universities, and knowledge-based companies.
Closing his remarks, Bemani invited elites to join the Navy’s scientific and defense development path.
“The future of Iran will be built by elite youth, and the Army Navy welcomes their scientific and research capacity for developing new technologies and strengthening the country’s defense capabilities,” he said.
The Navy participated in the Armed Forces Achievements Exhibition for conscript elites with 14 booths, displaying research projects and technologies including electronic warfare systems, phased-array radars, radar-evading composite equipment, drone and quadcopter systems, training simulators, and water purification equipment.

We followed the meeting between the criminal U.S. President and the Iraqi Prime Minister, during which the criminal spoke about his crime of assassinating the two great commanders, Hajj Qassem Soleimani and Hajj Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis at Baghdad Airport, asking whether he had done the Prime Minister a favor or not. The latter responded that he was “tired of the past.”

Third: We have never forgotten, nor will we ever forget, our vengeance. The more this criminal burdens himself with crimes, the more resolute we become in seeking retribution, relying first on the resistance fighters in Iraq and then on the sons of the Ummah.
We renew our pledge to our beloved father, to the thousands of martyred commanders and innocent people of this Ummah, foremost among them our leader and the Guardian of the Muslims, the martyred Sayyid Ali Khamenei, and his rightful successor, Sayyid Mujtaba Khamenei, that even if we are unable to bear arms, we will drown this criminal, along with his followers in America, the region, and Iraq, in our own blood.
It is also clear to everyone that this visit has two primary objectives:
To dismantle the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) as an ideological force that, by virtue of its formation, existence, and history, confronts the forces of global arrogance and their agents, continuing a path that began with the assassination of PMF commander Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis.
To take control of Iraq’s oil wealth.
Accordingly, we affirm that the calls to dismantle the resistance and surrender its weapons under the slogan of “restricting arms to the state” are an American-Zionist narrative that we reject, regardless of who promotes it.
We also affirm the necessity of resisting and confronting the economic presence that seeks to plunder our nation’s wealth, just as we confront their military presence with all our strength.
“And the ultimate outcome belongs to the righteous.”

The movement was also not prepared for a wide confrontation due to the repercussions of the American-Israeli campaign on Yemen and the damage it caused, in addition to the field changes on the Yemeni scene, including the decline of Emirati influence and the growing Saudi role. Therefore, the movement and Iran were aware of these realities, and the decision not to enter the conflict through its widest doors was, from their point of view, the wisest option.
Now, perhaps after completing preparations, compensating for some losses, and understanding the changes on the Yemeni ground, the first Iranian plane arrived days ago to break the air blockade imposed on Sana’a, which angered Saudi Arabia. No sooner had the impact of the first flight passed than a second Iranian plane attempted to land in Sana’a today, but Saudi warplanes bombed the airport runway, forcing the aircraft to change its destination and land in Hodeidah.
What does this mean?
These developments often indicate that the Ansar Allah movement and Iran have begun activating the Yemeni front by using air travel as a means to challenge the blockade imposed on Sana’a. The movement had also escalated its pressure on Saudi Arabia to demand the lifting of the blockade until matters reached the stage of operating Iranian flights, alongside previous serious threats to resume fighting if the blockade continued. Therefore, the next stage may witness, even without the return of the war with Iran in its previous form, escalatory steps such as closing the Bab al-Mandab Strait or targeting Saudi oil facilities. This would mean returning to the same targets that were bombed during the war, but this time in a different context based on drawing Saudi Arabia into an escalatory path by breaking the equation of air deterrence imposed in Yemen.
Now, with the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, the scene has become more complex, as the cost of any confrontation between Ansar Allah and Saudi Arabia would rise for America and its allies, whether through its effect on oil prices or by disrupting navigation and trade in the world’s most important maritime passages. Therefore, it seems that the landing of the Iranian plane was not merely a routine flight, but a step that could turn into a strategic trap in which Saudi Arabia finds itself facing the consequences, which it deserves.
