The Heart is the King of the Body
The Prophet (صÙ٠اÙÙ٠عÙÙ٠٠سÙÙ
) said:
Ø£ÙÙÙا ÙÙØ¥ÙÙÙÙ ÙÙ٠اÙÙجÙسÙد٠Ù
ÙضÙغÙة٠إÙØ°Ùا صÙÙÙØÙت٠صÙÙÙØ٠اÙÙجÙسÙد٠ÙÙÙÙÙÙÙ Ø ÙÙØ¥ÙØ°Ùا ÙÙسÙدÙت٠ÙÙسÙد٠اÙÙجÙسÙد٠ÙÙÙÙÙÙ٠أÙÙÙا ÙÙÙÙÙ٠اÙÙÙÙÙÙØšÙ
"There lies within the body a piece of flesh. If it is sound, the whole body is sound; and if it is corrupt, the whole body is corrupt. Indeed, this is the heart." (1)
Ibn Rajab commented upon this hadīth saying:
"For this reason, it is said that the heart is the king of the body parts, and the other limbs and body parts are its soldiers. So they are soldiers who are obedient to him, they are dispatched in his obedience, and they implement his commands. They do not oppose him in any of this.
If the king is upright, then his soldiers will be upright; and if he is corrupt, then his soldiers will similarly be corrupt." (2)

VIRTUE of Fasting In Allah's Month â MUHARRAM ð±
The Prophet (ï·º) was asked: "Which prayer is best after the obligatory prayers, and which fasting is best after the month of Ramadan?"
He (ï·º) said: "The best prayer after the prescribed prayer is prayer in the middle of the night (tahajjud), and the best fasting after the month of Ramadan is fasting in the month of Allah, Muharram."

What is the Ruling on Congratulating People on the Occasion of the Hijri New Year.
Question: _You talked about the new year, what is the ruling on congratulating people on the occasion of the new Islamic year and how should one reply to a person who offers congratulations?_
Answered by Shaykh ibn âUthaymeen [may AllÄh have mercy on him]:
âIf someone congratulates you, then respond to him, but do not initiate such greetings. This is the correct view concerning this matter. Therefore, if a person says to you, for example: âHappy New Year,â then you may reply: âMay AllÄh make it a prosperous and blessed year for you.â But you should not initiate such greetings, because I do not know of any report from the Pious Predecessors and Successors who congratulated one another on the occasion of the new year. Rather, know the Pious Predecessors and Successors did not regard the first of al-Muharram as the first day of the new year until the Caliphate of âUmar ibn al-KhattÄb [may AllÄh be pleased with him].â

Itâs so beautiful that our Merciful Lord and beloved Prophet Muឥammad ï·º taught us so many compelling supplications/affirmations for any given time, and when experiencing different emotions.
In Surah Al-Baqarah Ayat 186 Allah ï·» says âWhen My servants ask you [O Prophet] about Me: I am truly near. I respond to the oneâs prayer when they call upon Me. So let them respond [with obedience] to Me and believe in Me, perhaps they will be guided [to the right way].â

AbÅ« SaÊ¿Ä«d al-KhudrÄ« (raážiy AllÄhu Ê¿anhu) narrated that one day, the Messenger of Allah ï·º entered the masjid. He saw a man from the Aná¹£Är called AbÅ« UmÄmah (raážiy AllÄhu Ê¿anhu). He ï·º asked, âWhat is the matter? Why are you sitting in the mosque when it is not the time for prayer?â He replied, âNever-ending worries and debts, O Messenger of Allah.â
The Messenger of Allah ï·º then asked, âShall I not teach you words by which, when you say them, Allah will remove your worries, and settle your debts?â He replied, âYes of course, O Messenger of Allah.â
He ï·º said, âSay in the morning and evening [the above].â AbÅ« UmÄmah (raážiy AllÄhu Ê¿anhu) said, âThen I did that, and Allah removed my anxieties and settled my debts.â

These duaa remind us that we can get closer to Allah ï·» through submission to Him and acknowledging that He is in control of all things.
We can consider the concept of countering negative emotions with positive actions. Duaa during times of distress can counteract negative emotions and open up a more objective and reflective attitude.
The consistency of reciting specific duaa can act as a form of mindfulness. And when it becomes automatic during times of distress/anxiety/sadness, it can help to quell these emotions.

Question:
What is your advice concerning a youth who lives in a home where there is a satellite dishð¡, and televisionðº channels? Should he leave the home and stay away from his family, or what should he do?
ðShaykh Salih al Fawzan ØÙ؞٠اÙÙÙ :
This is a tribulation when the fathers are the ones who bring evils into their own homes â and it is a tribulation for the children. The father is the example, so if the father himself introduces the television channels in to the home, then what are the women and children of the house to think? They will no doubt be ruined.
It is obligatory upon the fathers to cleanse their homes from these corrupt television channels that cause ruination. They should not come before AllÄh to be punished for these matters that led them astray [whilst they were] devoid of knowledge â and they will be ascribed to these ills on the Day of Resurrection â and the head of the home is as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stated âa shepherd and is responsible for his flock.â
So it is upon the father to keep away from these television channels even if if he desires them and inclines to them â out of fear for himself and his children â because this is a responsibility that he has before AllÄh and a trust that AllÄh has placed upon him.
As for the son, then if he has been put to trial by the father in this matter, then he should advise his father in the best manner. If he accepts the advice, then all praise is for AllÄh â and if he does not accept it, then he continues to advise him. However, he stays away and sleeps in room far away [from the television] and he does not leave the home altogether.
