Kapitalist Modernite ve Ulus
Kavram olarak ulus, klan, kabile ve akraba aşiretlerin kavim, halk veya milliyet biçimindeki oluşumlarından sonra gelen ve kendini en çok dil ve kültür benzerliğiyle karakterize eden toplum biçimlenişidir. Ulusal toplumlar kabile ve kavim toplumuna göre daha kapsayıcı ve geniş hacimli, bu nedenle de gevşek bağlarla birbirine bağlı insan topluluklarıdır.
Ulusal toplum daha çok çağımızın bir olgusudur. Genel bir tanımı yapılırsa, ortak bir zihniyeti paylaşanların topluluğudur denilebilir. Yani zihnen var olan bir olgudur; dolayısıyla soyut ve hayali bir varlıktır. Buna kültür temelinde tanımlanan ulus da diyebiliriz. Sosyolojik anlamda doğru olan da bu tanımdır. Sınıf, cins, renk, etnisite, hatta farklı ulus kökenliliğine rağmen, en genelde ortak bir zihniyet ve kültür dünyasının oluşması ulus olmak için yeterlidir...

Mar. 12, 2004: During a match between the Qamishlo team (locals) and the Deir Ezzor team (guests), the visiting fans attacked Qamishlo people, who after going to a demonstration, were attacked again by the police. The revolt spread in many other cities.
In total 38 civilians were killed, many were injured, and nearly 5,000 people arrested. This was part of the Syrian regime's plan to establish an "Arab belt", pushing the Kurdish population out of border areas. The uprising opened the door to the revolution in North and East Syria. | 943 |

The municipality started to work a few months before, in May 2013. On Jan 21, 2014, the Democratic Autonomous Administration was declared in Jazira Canton.
