🇹🇷🇱🇧Turkish authorities deported late on Monday night, about 450 Syrians from Bab al-Salama border crossing north of Aleppo, while a faction of the pro-Turkish National Army detained the deportees and forced them to pay a ransom to allow their departure. This morning, the Lebanese authorities deported more than 300 Syrians to Syrian government-controlled areas, amid campaigns of incitement and violence against them in Lebanon, and UN fears that the deportees will be subjected to arrests and abuses. Yesterday, Amnesty International warned the Lebanese authorities against deporting Syrian refugees en masse, noting that Syria is not safe for return. An administrator at the crossing told North Press that Turkish authorities deported about 450 people, including about 80 women, from the Bab al-Salameh crossing north of Aleppo, after arresting and detaining them in Turkish prisons for more than a week.
