Written by Geoffroi de Charny in the 1300's AD. It is one of the main books of the period that tries to describe chivalry. It's been translated into English by Elspeth Kennedy and can be found in a couple of different editions with introductory text by Richard W. Kaeuper.
Geoffroi was a knight who was considered in his time to be a great example of knighthood.

Modern morality, Lewis claims, has become utilitarian and equalizing in ways that flatten distinctions of honor, loyalty, and nobility of spirit.
Chivalry is not merely medieval costume but a moral grammar; a set of virtues (courage, courtesy, loyalty, honor, magnanimity) that shape personal conduct and social imagination.
