Another project today is that I negotiated with a local guy to buy 12 550w panels. So tomorrow I'll begin extending my three ground mount arrays and in a few weeks shuffle panels around. Array 1 presently has 12 330w panels on it. I'm going to take 4 of them and move to array #2 and 4 more and move to array 3. I'll have four leftover and I'll stash them in the horse trailer. Mabye I'll put a minisplit HVAC in my workshop someday. Then I'll mount 12 550w panels on array 1... That'll give me array 1... 6.6kw on a 3.8kw inverter for overpanel of 1.73x. array 2... 7.92kw on a 6kw inverter for overpanel of 1.32x array 3... 7.92kw on two 3kw MPPT for overpanel of 1.32x array 4... 11kw on a 6kw inverter for overpanel of 1.78x I've run the math on the increased production and it'll make me an additional 520kwh in february. Last year february was the month I had to buy power. So for around the cost of an additional battery I hope to not need to pull from the grid at all this winter.

The issue with my setup is that I make 22kw on peak but I can only export 12kw thru my battery inverters. So if I were to leave all of my equipment "in the house", when I went on grid I'd trip the breaker. So most days I have 6kw of inverter exporting directly to grid and bypassing the main inverters. But on days when my battery is really low, I'll move that inverter inside the house. I just need logic to prevent the the main inverter from connecting to the grid if this guy isn't set to export around the inverter. Easy peasy.

Today it was raining, so I could fool with one of my solar inverters with no significant loss of production. I had previously
Today it was raining, so I could fool with one of my solar inverters with no significant loss of production. I had previously connected this to an inverter so I could swtich between direct export and "inside the house" for more power on cloudy days. I added a shelly PM1 wifi switch to it which gives me the ability to control it from home assistant and see the position of the switch. Now I can automate when this goes on and off grid.

Ammunition Depot has 22lr for 7c/rd if anyone interested.

Haven’t had rain in a while. Time to clean the pollen and dust off my panels.

Why do you never hear about horse divorces? Because they have stable relationships.

Firedrill: You were bushhogging your around your pond and hit a stump and broke the shear pin in the drive line. Got one on hand? Seems it's a Grade 2 1/2"x3" bolt..... all my hardware store had was grade 5.
