| 6 | For my Orthodox frens out there, there's a meal that I've been making at least once during each fast for the last couple of years now.
I call it Swamp Slop. It's filling but isn't calorie dense at the same time so it can help you lose weight.
Take broccoli and mushrooms, add them to an oiled pan with a lid, and steam them for a while. Once they're soft from steaming, take off the lid and let them fry up a bit.
Make a vegetable gravy on the side with vegetable broth, use whatever thickener you want.
Boil one pound of pasta until fully cooked, drain the water.
Once everything is done, mix it all together in the pasta pot, stir it up good and season how you want to.
I think for this I used two packages of mushrooms (don't remember their weight) and three pounds of frozen broccoli, and I seasoned it with a mix of Kinder's The Blend and Dan O's. Remember, the higher the ratio of its volume is broccoli and mushrooms, the better, since both broccoli and mushrooms have almost no carbs and no calories. In all it's an enjoyable fasting food.
