| 2 | We have received many beautiful, powerful and deeply moving messages pertaining to Shaykh Musa Jibril’s حفظه الله Ruqyah series, describing remarkable experiences people have had while listening to it.
Before releasing this series, Shaykh Musa حفظه الله made a special intention and du‘ā’ for those who would listen to it — asking Allah سبحانه وتعالى to make it a means of complete cure, healing and purification; that Allah cure and heal every person who hears it, removing their affliction completely and leaving no trace of sickness whatsoever.
And all cure belongs to Allah alone. The recitation is a means, the Qur’an is a healing, and Ash-Shāfī — the One who ultimately cures — is Allah
Since the release of the series, we have received numerous testimonies from listeners describing their experiences and the benefit they believe they have received by the permission of Allah.
Among them was the incident of a woman who said that the jinn afflicting her accepted Islam and departed from her, by the permission of Allah. And this is not the only testimony of its kind; we have received many messages describing powerful experiences and changes after following the Shaykh’s Ruqyah.
The message forwarded above is another such account — regarding a woman who had reportedly suffered for years and sought Ruqyah in many different places without significant relief. Her family describes the remarkable experience she subsequently had after listening to the Shaykh’s Ruqyah.
Cure is from Allah alone. Ruqyah is through His Words and what has authentically been prescribed in the Sunnah, and no harm can be removed except by His permission.
May Allah accept the sincere du‘ā’ of Shaykh Musa Jibril حفظه الله, reward him immensely for this series, place tremendous barakah within it, and make it a means through which countless Muslims are cured, purified and brought closer to Him.
May Allah cure every afflicted Muslim with a complete cure that leaves behind no illness, no harm and no trace of affliction.
O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove the harm and cure, for You are the One who cures. There is no cure except Your cure — a cure that leaves no illness behind.
And Allah alone is the One who cures. | 862 |
| 3 | FORWARDED MESSAGE:
I have an aunt who has been suffering from what the family believes to be sihr (black magic) for a very long time. She is almost 35 years old, and her entire family has also been affected by what they believe to be sihr. There is very little bonding among the family members, and they feel that the barakah in their rizq (provision) has been severely diminished.
She has undergone ruqyah in many different places over the past four or five years, but unfortunately, she did not experience any significant benefit.
However, about a month and a half ago, I asked her to listen to the Ruqyah I was sending her.(it was Ruqya of shaikh Musa Jibril hafizahullah) I didn’t tell her the Shaykh’s name or give her any information about his identity, because she doesn’t know the Shaykh. hafidhahullah. Over the past week, she began experiencing very strong reactions after listening to the Shaykh’s ruqyah.
Alhamdulillah, alhamdulillah, during the past two days, she experienced severe vomiting after the ruqyah. She then noticed what appeared to be a lump resembling a ball of dough coming out from her stomach. After the ruqyah session, she fell into a very peaceful and deep sleep. She described feeling an extraordinary sense of relaxation and lightness, as though she had finally been able to rest after many years of hardship.
During that sleep, she had a dream in which she saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ alongside an elderly man with a white beard. Both of them were smiling in the dream. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ appeared extremely pleased and said to her:
“i told you about this very thing a long time ago, but you did not understand.”
After this dream, everyone was extremely happy and relieved. Shortly afterward, she woke up.
This is the incident as it happened.
The strangest part of all is that I had never shown her Shaykh Musa’s identity or photograph. I did not even tell her whose ruqyah she was listening to.
After she described the person she had seen in her dream, I showed her a photograph of Shaykh Musa. She immediately burst into tears and said with certainty:
“He is the exact person I saw.” | 879 |
| 4 | Mawlid, the Night Journey and other celebrations in Islam.
There is no celebration for “The night journey (from Makkah to Jerusalem and/or the ascension of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم to the heavens.” Belief in its occurrence is known and is obligatory however there is nothing authentically reported regarding its celebration by the Prophet nor the pious predecessors - our excellent examples. The night journey truly happened, it is mentioned in the two truths - The Quran and the statements of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم, the two authentic sources of Islam. Likewise and very similar to the celebration of the mawlid, we know for a fact that the Prophet was born (May peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family), however, it is not the occurrence that is in question, it is the celebration of the events. We do not have one authentic Hadith regarding its celebration. Furthermore, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم himself never celebrated it and the best people after the Prophet never celebrated his birthday nor the night journey.
Whosoever celebrates all this has fallen into innovation. Everything in Islam, every rule in Islam comes from the Quran and Sunnah and must be contingent upon solid evidence(s). This is a rule. Whether it be a name of Allah or an attribute of Allah, or the rules, the laws, acts of worship etc. It must all be contingent upon solid evidence.
No one is allowed to introduce to the people any other practice in Islam, right, rule or principle that’s not contingent upon the Quran or Sunnah. If someone does come with something that is not from the Quran and Sunnah then it’s rejected because it’s an innovation, and every innovation is an aberration and every aberration is misguidance and every misguidance is in the hellfire.
Islam is complete and has been perfected by Allah. We have two celebrations in this religion:
1) Eid Al Fitr
2) Eid Al Adhaa
Whosoever innovates something in this matter of ours is not from us, he will have it rejected.
We do not celebrate the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم one day a year, this is the tradition and celebration of the jahil and Islam came to abolish this jahilliyah (ignorance) and foolishness. In Islam we do not celebrate a person one day, rather they are celebrated every day - like the mother, the spouse etc. Likewise with the Prophet, a mercy to mankind, we do not celebrate him one day a year, nor do we celebrate him with innovation, rather we celebrate him every day by obeying him and aligning ourselves with his Sunnah such as to wake up at the last third part of the night and offer prayer as he did until his feet would swell and bleed from standing so long - this is more befitting and a true way of honouring and celebrating the greatest man Allah created. That’s the real celebration for the one who truly seeks to honour the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم and not the one who is merely driven by his whims and desires, those who have no sense, they celebrate the ascension of the Prophet whilst denying Allah rose over his divine throne (in a manner befitting His Majesty), making bizarre claims such as “Allah is everywhere.”

| 6 | What initially felt like deprivation becomes liberation.
And what the people of dunyā consider a loss, the believer begins recognising as gain.
⸻
So Where Is Happiness?
Happiness is not that everything happens according to your desires.
Happiness is that your heart remains attached to Allāh when everything happens contrary to your desires.
Happiness is Tawḥīd.
Happiness is certainty.
Happiness is knowing that your provision has already been written.
Happiness is knowing no creation can give you what Allāh withheld and no creation can withhold what Allāh decreed for you.
Happiness is placing your forehead upon the ground while the world sleeps and knowing that the Lord of the heavens hears you.
Happiness is committing a sin, feeling your heart burn with regret, returning to Allāh and finding the door of repentance still open.
Happiness is loving for Allāh and hating for Allāh.
Happiness is fearing Allāh more than creation.
Happiness is reaching the point where pleasing Allāh becomes more beloved to you than satisfying yourself.
That is the sweetness of Īmān.
And whoever has tasted even a drop of it knows that the pleasures of this dunyā cannot compare.
The people of Tawḥīd may be tested.
They may cry.
They may experience poverty, loneliness, persecution and hardship.
But beneath those trials there is something the people of dunyā cannot understand:
A heart that knows its Lord.
A heart that knows where it came from.
A heart that knows where it is going.
A heart that whispers through every hardship:
I have Allāh.
And if you have Allāh, then despite everything you may have lost, you possess the greatest treasure a human being can ever possess.
So do not merely speak about Īmān.
Seek its sweetness.
Do not merely repeat Tawḥīd.
Live Tawḥīd.
Do not be among those who spend their entire lives chasing happiness outside themselves while the door to true happiness was always between them and their Lord.
The people of Tawḥīd possess a Paradise in their hearts before they enter the Paradise of the Hereafter.
And that is why the world can shake around them, while their hearts remain firm.
Tawḥīd.
Cleanse your ʿAqīdah. Purify your Tawḥīd. Remove the creation from the place in your heart that belongs only to the Creator.
Put the dunyā back where it belongs:
in your hand, not in your heart.
Then you will begin to understand what the people of Tawḥīd understood before us:
You do not need to possess the whole world to live like a king.
You only need a heart that belongs completely to Allāh.
And when Allāh fills that heart with Īmān, certainty and contentment, the dunyā may still test you…
but it no longer owns you.
Shaykh Musa Jibril

| 7 | And some of the believers possess very little, yet there is a richness inside their chest that kings would pay fortunes to possess.
That is ḥayātan ṭayyibah — the good life.
The richness of certainty.
The tranquillity of Tawḥīd.
The sweetness of obedience.
The comfort of knowing that whatever happens, you have a Lord.
⸻
Tawḥīd Takes You From Darkness Into Light
Allāh said:
“Allâh is the Walî (Protector or Guardian) of those who believe. He brings them out from darkness into light.”
— Sūrah al-Baqarah, verse 257
Look at the wording.
Darknesses are many.
But the light is one.
The darkness of shirk.
The darkness of desires.
The darkness of confusion.
The darkness of dependence upon creation.
The darkness of fearing creation more than the Creator.
The darkness of living without purpose.
And then comes Tawḥīd.
Light.
You know who created you.
You know why you are here.
You know whom you worship.
You know whom you fear.
You know whom you ask.
You know where you are going.
What greater liberation is there than this?
⸻
The Paradise of the People of Tawḥīd
Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله experienced imprisonment, persecution and hardship, yet Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله transmitted from him words that expose what true richness looks like:
“What can my enemies do to me? My Paradise and my garden are in my heart wherever I go.”
He explained that imprisonment was seclusion for worship, being killed would be martyrdom, and exile would be a journey.
— al-Wābil al-Ṣayyib, Ibn al-Qayyim
And it is also transmitted from Shaykh al-Islām
“In this world there is a Paradise; whoever does not enter it will not enter the Paradise of the Hereafter.”
What Paradise was he speaking about?
Not palaces.
Not gardens.
Not wealth.
He was speaking about the Paradise of knowing Allāh, worshipping Him, loving Him, remembering Him and having certainty in Him.
When that Paradise enters the heart, what can the creation truly take from you?
Take his wealth — his Lord remains.
Take his house — his Lord remains.
People abandon him — his Lord remains.
Place him in solitude — his Lord remains.
The entire world can turn against a servant, yet if Allāh is pleased with him, what has he really lost?
And the entire world can applaud a servant, yet if he has lost Allāh, what has he really gained?
⸻
The Real Prison
Shaykh al-Islām رحمه الله also said:
“The one who is truly imprisoned is the one whose heart is imprisoned from Allāh, and the captive is the one whose desires have enslaved him.”
That is the reality.
A man can walk freely through the streets while being a prisoner to his desires.
A person can possess everything his eyes desire while his soul remains chained.
But the person of Tawḥīd can be physically confined while his heart roams through the gardens of Īmān.
Freedom begins with servitude to Allāh.
When you become a true slave of Allāh, you cease being a slave to everything else.
⸻
Taste It Before You Speak About It
There is a difference between the one who describes honey and the one who has tasted honey.
Likewise, there is a difference between merely discussing Īmān and tasting Īmān.
You cannot explain the sweetness of standing before Allāh in the darkness of the night to someone who has never experienced it.
You cannot adequately explain the tranquillity of tawakkul to the heart constantly dependent upon creation.
You cannot explain the honour of Tawḥīd to someone still enslaved by the approval of people.
You cannot explain the sweetness of abandoning something for Allāh until someone has actually sacrificed what his soul desired for the sake of Allāh.
This religion is not merely slogans.
It must enter the heart.
It must appear upon the limbs.
It must affect your choices.
It must cost you something.
And when a servant begins sacrificing his desires for Allāh, something extraordinary happens:
What initially felt difficult becomes sweet. | 974 |
| 8 | The Sweetness of Īmān
——————————————
The Happiness of the People of Tawḥīd
There are hearts that are empty, and there are hearts that are alive.
There are people who walk through this world chasing one desire after another, thinking that when they reach the next goal, acquire the next possession, gain the next position, or satisfy the next desire, then they will finally be happy.
But the problem was never that they had not reached their worldly goal.
The problem was the moral emptiness of God Fearing in the heart.
When the heart is empty of the fear of Allāh, empty of Tawḥīd, empty of certainty, empty of remembrance, it desperately searches for something from the creation to fill a space that was created for the Creator.
So they chase.
Money.
Status.
Women.
Men.
Attention.
Recognition.
Entertainment.
Desires.
And when they reach one thing, the heart demands another.
Why?
Because dunyā was never created to satisfy the heart.
The dunya needs to be in your hands not in your heart! The heart was created to know Allāh, worship Allāh, love Allāh, fear Allāh and depend upon Allāh alone.
⸻
Īmān Has a Taste
Īmān is not merely something discussed on the tongue.
Īmān has a sweetness. It has a taste.
The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said:
“There are three qualities, whoever possesses them will find the sweetness of faith: that Allāh and His Messenger are more beloved to him than anything else; that he loves a person only for the sake of Allāh; and that he hates to return to disbelief after Allāh saved him from it just as he hates to be thrown into the Fire.”
— Bukhārī & Muslim
The Prophet ﷺ called it ḥalāwat al-Īmān — the sweetness delight taste of faith.
Something experienced.
Something tasted.
Something recognised by the heart.
A person can spend years talking about Islām while never experiencing this sweetness.
He can know terminology.
He can know arguments.
He can know names.
He can repeat what others have said.
But Tawḥīd is not merely information stored in the mind. Tawḥīd transforms the heart.
When Tawḥīd settles deeply inside the heart, the person’s loves change.
His fears change.
His hopes change.
His loyalties change.
His priorities change.
Even his understanding of happiness changes.
⸻
The Majority Walk Around Shallow
Many people walk around spiritually shallow. They know the dunyā intimately, but know very little about the One Who created it.
They know the price of everything but the value of their own Īmān.
They recognise celebrities, businessmen, politicians and personalities, yet barely recognise the people of Tawḥīd.
They can speak endlessly about worldly affairs, but ask them about Lā ilāha illa Allāh, what it negates, what it affirms, what it demands from a person, and suddenly there is silence.
Yet this is the foundation upon which their eternity rests.
Allāh said:
“Those who believed (in the Oneness of Allāh — Islâmic Monotheism), and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allāh: verily, in the remembrance of Allāh do hearts find rest.”
— Sūrah ar-Raʿd, verse 28
Notice that Allāh did not say hearts find their ultimate rest in wealth. Nor marriage. Nor houses. Nor status. Nor popularity.
Hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allāh.
⸻
The Good Life Is the Life of Īmān
Allāh said:
“Whoever works righteousness — whether male or female — while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islâmic Monotheism) verily, to him We will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision)…”
— Sūrah an-Naḥl, verse 97
The good life is not necessarily the life with the most possessions.
Some of the richest people are miserable.
Some people sleep upon expensive beds but cannot find sleep.
Some own enormous homes while their hearts feel suffocated. | 887 |
| 9 | Q. Are we permitted to go outside and watch the eclipse?
A. 🌑 When the Sun Is Eclipsed — This Is Not a Celebration!
An eclipse occurs when the light of the sun or moon is obscured. But for the believer, it is not merely an astronomical event to gather outside, watch, photograph or celebrate.
It is one of the signs of Allah, a sign by which Allah causes His servants to fear Him.
When a solar eclipse occurred during the lifetime of the Prophet ﷺ, his response was not excitement or entertainment.
Abū Mūsā رضي الله عنه narrated that when the sun eclipsed:
“The Prophet ﷺ got up in a state of fear, thinking that it might be the Hour.”
He ﷺ hurried to the Masjid and stood in a long prayer, prolonging his standing, bowing and prostration. He then said:
“These signs which Allah sends do not occur because of the life or death of anyone, but Allah causes His servants to fear by them. So when you see anything of that, hasten to the remembrance of Allah, supplicate to Him and seek His forgiveness.”
— Bukhārī
This was the response of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: fear, prayer, duʿā’, dhikr and istighfār.
And he ﷺ commanded:
“When you see them, supplicate to Allah and pray until it becomes clear.”
— Bukhārī
ʿĀ’ishah رضي الله عنها described how the Prophet ﷺ prolonged the eclipse prayer, with lengthy standing and bowing, until the eclipse had cleared.
So an eclipse is not an Eid, a holiday or an occasion for entertainment. We have no guidance from the Prophet ﷺ teaching us to go out merely to watch and enjoy it. Rather, his Sunnah teaches the believer to recognise the seriousness of Allah’s signs and turn immediately back to Him.
The same Prophet ﷺ who received revelation feared that it might be the Hour. What, then, should our condition be?
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was the best and most knowledgeable of creation concerning Allah, the most God-fearing of mankind, and our perfect example. Yet when he ﷺ witnessed the eclipse, he became fearful and hastened to prayer.
Allah تعالى said:
“Indeed in the Messenger of Allah (Muhammad ﷺ) you have a good example to follow…”
— Sūrah al-Aḥzāb, verse 21
So if we truly love the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, we follow him. We fear when he feared, we pray as he prayed, and we respond to the signs of Allah as he taught us to respond. Guidance is not found in following our feelings, customs or what people have turned an occasion into; guidance is in following the footsteps of Muhammad ﷺ.
When Allah displays one of His mighty signs, let our first response be the response of His beloved Messenger ﷺ:
Hasten to the prayer. Remember Allah. Seek His forgiveness. Give charity. Make duʿā’. And fear the One who controls the sun, the moon, the heavens and the earth.
🌑 What should a Muslim do during an eclipse?
The Sunnah is to turn to Allah with:
• Ṣalāt al-Kusūf — the eclipse prayer.
• Duʿā’ and dhikr — remembering Allah and calling upon Him.
• Istighfār and tawbah — seeking Allah’s forgiveness and sincerely repenting.
• Ṣadaqah — giving charity.
• Fear of Allah — remembering that these are among His signs and that the Hour is a reality.
— Shaykh Musa Jibril

| 10 | 🌿 The Sunnah of Speaking Good or Remaining Silent 🌿
The tongue is one of the smallest limbs, yet one of the most powerful. It can be heavy upon the scale, or it can become a cause of a person’s destruction.
Many sins begin with a single word.
Many hearts are broken by a single sentence.
Many people will regret words they never thought twice about.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should speak good or remain silent.”
— Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī & Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim
How many friendships have been destroyed by a careless word?
How many families have been divided because of a sentence that should never have been spoken?
Silence is not weakness. Often, it is wisdom.
The believer weighs his words before they leave his tongue, knowing that every word is recorded.
Allah says:
“Not a word does he (or she) utter, but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it).”
— Surah Qāf 50:18
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“The Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hand the Muslims are safe.”
— Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī & Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim
Notice: The Prophet ﷺ mentioned the tongue before the hand. A wound inflicted by the hand may heal, but a word can remain embedded in a heart for years. Words can travel further, reach more people, and leave consequences long after they were spoken.
The Prophet ﷺ also gave one of the greatest promises found in the Sunnah. He guaranteed Paradise for guarding two things that people often struggle to restrain:
“Whoever guarantees for me what is between his two jaws (his tongue) and what is between his two legs (his private parts), I guarantee for him Paradise.”
— Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī
Before speaking, ask yourself:
Will these words please Allah?
Will they benefit someone?
Would I be pleased to see them written in my book of deeds?
Never underestimate a word simply because it seemed insignificant when it left your mouth.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“A servant may utter a word pleasing to Allah without giving it much thought, yet Allah raises him by many degrees because of it. And a servant may utter a word displeasing to Allah without giving it much thought, yet because of it he falls into Hell.”
— Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī
“O Messenger of Allah! Will we really be held accountable for what we say?”
The Prophet ﷺ replied:
“May your mother lose you, O Muʿādh! Is there anything that topples people on their faces—or he said, on their noses—into the Fire except the harvest of their tongues?”
— Jāmiʿ al-Tirmidhī
A guarded tongue is a sign of a guarded heart.
Sometimes, the most beautiful speech is the speech that was never spoken.
The righteous predecessors understood this well.
ʿAbdullāh ibn Masʿūd رضي الله عنه said:
“By Allah, besides Whom there is no deity worthy of worship, nothing deserves to be imprisoned longer than the tongue.”
Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله beautifully wrote in al-Dāʾ wa al-Dawāʾ:
“How amazing is the tongue! A small piece of flesh, yet no limb is more obedient if it is upright, and no limb is more rebellious if it goes astray.”
And al-Ḥasan al-Baṣrī رحمه الله said:
“The tongue of the believer is behind his heart. When he wishes to speak, he first reflects. If it is for him, he speaks; if it is against him, he remains silent. But the hypocrite’s heart is behind his tongue. He says whatever comes to his tongue.”
So pause before you speak. A moment of silence may save you from years of regret. Let your tongue be occupied with the remembrance of Allah, Qurʾān, truth, kindness and words that mend hearts rather than break them. If there is goodness in your words, speak. If there is no goodness in them, then let your silence become an act of worship.
The tongue is small, but its account is great. Guard it today, before you stand before Allah and every word you ever uttered is placed before you.

| 15 | Allah is With the Broken Heart
There are wounds that no eye can see.
A smile may conceal them. A voice may hide them. But Allah knows every crack in every heart.
The broken heart is never abandoned by Allah. It is often the closest heart to Him, because it has nowhere else to turn.
“No calamity befalls, but by the Leave (i.e. Decision and Qadar) of Allah, and whosoever believes in Allah, He guides his heart.”
— [Surah At-Taghabun 64:11]
When Allah guides the heart, He does not always remove the trial. Rather, He fills the heart with certainty, tranquility, and reliance upon Him.
The heart is not a small part of you, it is the king of your body.
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Verily, in the body there is a piece of flesh which, if it is sound, the whole body is sound; and if it is corrupted, the whole body is corrupted. Verily, it is the heart.”
— Bukhārī & Muslim
Guard your heart more than you guard your wealth.
Do not allow hatred, jealousy, envy, rancor, or revenge to settle within it.
The people of Paradise are those whose hearts are purified.
Allah says:
“And We shall remove from their breasts any deep feeling of bitterness (that they may have), (so they will be like) brothers facing each other on thrones.”
— [Surah Al-Hijr 15:47]
A heart filled with Allah has no room for the diseases that destroy souls.
Perhaps your wings feel broken today.
Perhaps you feel exhausted from carrying burdens no one knows except Allah.
Do not think your brokenness distances you from your Lord. It may be the very reason you are nearest to Him.
Allah does not look at your appearance or your possessions.
He looks at your heart.
And Allah praises those who truly benefit from His reminders:
﴿إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَذِكْرَىٰ لِمَن كَانَ لَهُۥ قَلْبٌ أَوْ أَلْقَى ٱلسَّمْعَ وَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ﴾
“Verily, therein is indeed a reminder for him who has a heart or gives ear while he is heedful.”
— [Surah Qāf 50:37]
Your heart may be wounded, but do not let it become hard.
A broken heart that turns to Allah is far more beloved than a proud heart that feels no need of Him.
Keep returning to Allah.
He is the One who mends what no one else can mend.
May Allah heal every broken heart, purify our hearts from every disease, fill them with īmān, contentment, sincerity and love for Him, and make us among the people of Paradise whose hearts are free from hatred, envy and rancor. Āmīn.

Therefore, denounce shirk, keep away from those who persist in it, and remain firm upon Tawḥīd.
We ask Allah to keep us steadfast upon His religion, to protect us from shirk, its apparent and hidden forms, and to cause us to die upon pure Tawḥīd.

| 20 | ❓Question
I have a neighbour who regularly visits the graves of those whom people call Awliyā’ Allāh. Whenever he visits, he places cloth and flowers upon their graves. I have advised him repeatedly and explained to him that these practices are impermissible.
When I asked why he does this, he replied that he does not ask the dead for anything. Rather, he visits them because they are Awliyā’ Allāh and seeks their intercession.
I believe this is clear shirk, and I have presented the evidence to him on several occasions, yet he continues to visit these shrines.
Today he is holding an ʿaqīqah for his newborn son and has invited me. The animal is being slaughtered by a butcher, not by him personally. As far as I know, when he performs the sacrifice of ʿEid al-Aḍḥā, he slaughters in the Name of Allah alone and not in the name of anyone besides Him.
Is it permissible for me to accept his invitation?
I was thinking of politely declining, saying that I cannot attend the gathering of one who associates partners with Allah. At the same time, I wondered whether attending may provide an opportunity to call him and the other attendees to Tawḥīd.
What is the correct approach according to the Qur’ān and the authentic Sunnah?

Answer
The basic principle regarding one who worships graves is that he is to be shunned and kept at a distance, because he has fallen into shirk and kufr. Whoever directs any act of worship to other than Allah is a disbeliever and a ṭāghūt and we are required to denounce ṭāghūt and its people.
Allah said: “There is no compulsion in religion. Verily, the Right Path has become distinct from the wrong path. Whoever disbelieves in Tāghūt and believes in Allah, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower.”
— Al-Baqarah 2:256
Likewise, Allah commanded us to disavow both shirk and its people, just as Ibrāhīm عليه السلام declared.
Allah said: “Indeed there has been an excellent example for you in Ibrahim (Abraham) and those with him, when they said to their people: ‘Verily, we are free from you and whatever you worship besides Allah; we have rejected you, and there has started between us and you hostility and hatred forever until you believe in Allah Alone.’”
— Al-Mumtaḥanah 60:4
However, if accepting such an invitation will genuinely provide an opportunity to call them to Tawḥīd and the truth, then the ruling depends on the circumstances. It depends on your knowledge, your ability to clarify the truth, and whether there is a real hope of benefit without compromising your religion.
As for my recommendation, I would not deal with grave worshippers.
Today the truth is well known. Knowledge has become easily accessible. The Qur’ān, the Sunnah, and the explanations of the scholars are available to anyone who sincerely seeks guidance. People can access the truth with ease, and this is why many even from among Christians and others embrace Islam after learning Tawḥīd through the abundant knowledge available today.

— Āl ʿImrān 3:138
