🕯 THE UNBROKEN TRUST On the Burial of Our Leader, Imam Sayyed Ali al-Husayni al-Khamenei The Unbroken Series · Session Three · The Final Gathering ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ For more than four months, the earth has waited. We are a people who bury in haste. Hasten the dead, we were taught — do not keep them from their rest. And yet a nation held its Leader above the ground through an entire season of grief, and carried him: through Tehran, through Qom, through Najaf, through Karbala — until the road ended at Mashhad, in the courtyard of the eighth Imam, and the trust was laid down beside Imam Reza. Many of us have carried the question in silence. How was this lawful? On Saturday we will ask it aloud — and answer it, from the Book of God and the rulings of our scholars, without evasion. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ The evening moves through three stations: ⟡ The lawfulness of the wait — what the Book and the jurists actually say ⟡ The sanctity of the entrusted body — a trust before it is ever a corpse ⟡ The homecoming — Mashhad, and the courtyard of the eighth Imam And it falls, by God's own arrangement, on the very eve of the martyrdom of Imam Zayn al-Abidin — the survivor of Karbala, who came home carrying a trust no one else could carry, and never once set it down. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Then the question that outlives every funeral: What does it truly mean to visit the friends of God? Not religious tourism. Not a transaction for paradise. A covenant — to establish the prayer, to lift the poor, to stand against the wrong of the powerful. Near to the shrine, or a thousand miles from it.
