አዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲ የማስተርካርድ ፋውንዴሽን ሽልማትን ተቀበለ
አዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲ በማስተርካርድ ፋውንዴሽን የተዘጋጀውን Africa Higher Education for Transformation (AHEFT) Prize በመጀመሪያው ዙር ከተሸለሙ አምስት የአፍሪካ ከፍተኛ ትምህርት ተቋማት አንዱ ሆኖ ሽልማቱን ተቀብሏል። ሽልማቱ በተቋማዊ ደረጃ ዘላቂ ለውጥ በማምጣት ላይ የሚገኙ የአፍሪካ ከፍተኛ ትምህርት ተቋማትን እውቅና ለመስጠት የተዘጋጀ ነው።
ዩኒቨርሲቲው ሽልማቱን መስከረም 14 ቀን 2019 ዓ.ም. በጋና አክራ በተካሄደው የመጀመሪያው Higher Education Transformation Convening ላይ የተቀበለ ሲሆን፣ መድረኩ የአፍሪካ ዩኒቨርሲቲዎች አመራሮችን፣ የአፍሪካ ኅብረት ተወካዮችን፣ የመንግሥት ተቋማትን፣ የፋይናንስ ተቋማትን፣ የግል ዘርፍ አጋሮችን፣ የልማት አጋሮችን እና ወጣቶችን አሰባስቧል።
የAHEFT ሽልማት በመማር ማስተማር፣ በምርምርና ፈጠራ፣ ተማሪዎችን ወደ ሥራ ዓለም በማሸጋገር እና በጤና ውጤቶች ላይ ዘላቂ ተቋማዊ ለውጥ እያመጡ ያሉ የአፍሪካ ተቋማትን ለመደገፍ የተጀመረ ዓመታዊ ሽልማት ነው።
አዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲም ሽልማቱን በምርምር እና ፈጠራ ዘርፍ ባሳየው ተቋማዊ ለውጥና እድገት አግኝቷል። በ500 ሚሊዮን የአሜሪካ ዶላር የተደገፈው ይህ መርሐ ግብር በቀጣዮቹ አሥር ዓመታት ቢያንስ 150 የአፍሪካ ከፍተኛ ትምህርት ተቋማትን እውቅና ለመስጠት ያለመ ነው።
አዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ከመጀመሪያዎቹ የAHEFT Prize ተሸላሚዎች አንዱ መሆኑ፣ ዩኒቨርሲቲው በመማርና ማስተማር፣ በምርምር እና ፈጠራ፣ በአጋርነት እና ለወጣቶች ዕድል በመፍጠር የሚያከናውናቸውን ተቋማዊ የለውጥ ሥራዎች ለማጠናከር ጉልህ እርምጃ ነው።
