ይህ የትብብር ፕሮጀክት ለረጅም ዓመታት ለአካባቢው ማህበረሰብ የትምህርት መርጃ መሳሪያና የተለያዩ ቁሳቁሶች ድጋፍ ከማበርከቱ በተጨማሪ በጨፌና ቆንቦኦ የተለያዩ ደረጃዎች ያሉትን የመማሪያ ህንፃ በመገንባት ለማህበረሰቡ እያደረገ ስላለው ድጋፍ ምስጋና ያቀረቡት የጨፌ ኮቲ- ጀቤሳ ቀበሌ አስተዳዳሪ አቶ ዘለቀ ማርሳሞ ናቸው።

የሀዋሳ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ምርምርና ትብብር ም/ፕሬዚደንት ጽ/ቤት ከኤስ.ኦ.ኤስ (SOS) ህፃናት መንደር ፕሮጀክት ጋር በመተባበር በጨፌ ኮቲ ጀዌሳ ቀበሌ ነዋሪ ሆነው ከ8 የተለያዩ ት/ቤቶች ለተወጣጡ 251 የትምህርት ግብአት እጥረት ያለባቸው ተማሪዎች የመማሪያ ቁሳቁሶችና የሴቶች ንጽህና መጠበቅያ ድጋፍ አድርጓል።
የምርምርና ትብብር ም/ፕሬዚደንት ዶ/ር ታፈሰ ማቴዎስ ትምህርት ለየትኛውም ሀገር እድገት ዋና መሰረት መሆኑን በመገንዘብ ዩኒቨርሲቲው ከኤስ.ኦ.ኤስ (SOS) ህፃናት መንደር ፕሮጀክት ጋር በመተባበር ባለፉት 12 ዓመታት ውስጥ ትምህርትንና ተማሪዎችን በቋሚነት ሲደግፍ መቆየቱን ገልጸዋል። በተለይም በ2019 የትምህርት ዘመን ይህን ድጋፍ በልዩ ሁኔታ በማጠናከር ለተማሪዎቹ የመማሪያ ደብተር፣ እስክሪብቶ፣ እርሳስ፣ ቦርሳ እና ለሴት ተማሪዎች የንፅህና መጠበቂያ ቁሳቁስ ድጋፍ ማበርከቱንና በተጨማሪም 12ኛ ክፍል ተፈትነው ወደ ዩኒቨርሲቲ መግቢያ ውጤት ላላስመዘገቡ የአካባቢው ተማሪዎች ዩኒቨርሲቲው አስፈላጊውን ድጋፍ ለማድረግ ዝግጁ መሆኑን ዶ/ር ታፈሰ አረጋግጠዋል።
የሀዋሳ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ፕሬዚዳንት ዶ/ር ችሮታው አየለ በበኩላቸው በትምህርት ሚኒስቴር ስር ባሉ 47 የከፍተኛ ትምህርት ተቋማት እና 3 ተጠሪ ተቋማት (በአጠቃላይ 50 ተቋማት) እያንዳንዳቸው ድጋፍ ለሚያስፈልጋቸው 100 ተማሪዎች የትምህርት ቁሳቁስ እንዲያቀርቡ አቅጣጫ መቀመጡን ጠቁመው ሀዋሳ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ግን ይህ አቅጣጫ ከወረደበት ጊዜ አስቀድሞ በማህበረሰብ አገልግሎት ዘርፍ ድጋፉን ተግባራዊ ሲያደርግ መቆየቱን ገልፀዋል።

የሀዋሳ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ፕሬዚደንት ዶ/ር ችሮታው አየለ በመክፈቻ ንግግራቸው የማህበራዊ ሳይንስ ሊቃውንት የሰው ልጅ ከሰው ተለይቶ መኖር የማይችልና የጠነከረ የህይወት መስተጋብር ያለው ማህበራዊ ፍጥረት መሆኑን በስፋት እንደሚናገሩ በመጠቆም ይህንን መስተጋብር በአግባቡ ለመምራት በሰላም የመኖር ክህሎትን መላበስ እና መለማመድ የግድ እንደሚል ገልጸዋል። ዶ/ር ችሮታው አክለውም የሰው ልጅ በግለሰብ ደረጃ ከሚኖረው ሰላም ባሻገር እንደ ህዝብ እና እንደ ሀገር ሰላምን ለማስፈን የበጎ ፈቃድ አገልግሎትና የአብሮነት እሴቶች ሚና ከፍተኛ መሆኑን በመጠቆም የ15ኛው ዙር የሰላም በጎ ፈቃድ ሰልጣኞችም ይህንኑ ሚና እንዲጫወቱ አሳስበዋል።

Hawassa University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Health and Demographic Surveillance System (HDSS) Network and key health-sector stakeholders to strengthen collaboration in the generation, management, sharing, and utilization of population-based health and demographic data for evidence-informed health planning and decision-making.
The MoU was signed at a high-level national event organized by the Impact HDSS Ethiopia Project, bringing together senior representatives from the Ministry of Health (MoH), Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI), and universities and academic institutions hosting HDSS sites across the country, an event aimed to strengthen the governance and sustainability of the HDSS Network, formalize data-sharing and access mechanisms, and enhance the contribution of population-based evidence to national health policies and programs. | 5 091 |

Hawassa University (HU) and Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) Ethiopia have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a tripartite operational framework designed to bridge academic research with real-world impact.
The agreement was signed by Margrethe Volden, Country Director of NCA Ethiopia, and Dr. Tafesse Matewos, Vice President for Research and Collaboration at HU.
Key Priorities of the partnership are:
Evidence-Based Field Impact: Translating academic research directly into actionable, community-level development models;
Capacity Enhancement: Strengthening the institutional capabilities of HU, NCA, and local operational partners;
Climate & Social Resilience: Co-designing targeted initiatives to build adaptive capacity in high-vulnerability communities; and
Resource Mobilization: Co-designing joint funding applications and pooling strategic resources for sustainable development.
