United Russia *shock* retains it's constitional majority, however the ''liberal'' New People's party jumps over the Liberal Democrat ultra nationalists and the Communist party to becoming the second largest party in the Duma
it is tentativily supportive of the war, but is much more free market in economics, anti corruption and a bit more social liberal than United Russia
Detractors claim it is a controlled opposition sink party, more or less controlled by the Kremlin as a pressure release valve for potential, largely youthful, liberal opposition targeting the former Navalny supporters
There is absolutely no logical reason that Russia would want to escalate this to involve NATO directly beyond NATO directly involving itself in the already ongoing Ukrainian conflict.
There is a train of thought that if Russia scares European nations to such a degree that they are about to enter kinetic conflict with Russia imminently, they might cease arms transfers to Ukraine in order to rebuild their own stockpiles

A potential scenario, is the Russians could try and orchestrate some kind of incident involving or appearing to involve the ethnic Russian populations in Latvia or Estonia in the hopes of exacerbating tension or division inside such countries and devote more resources to suppression and surveillance of the ethnic Russian populations, alienating them further and pushing them towards Moscow
Latvia and Poland say they have intelligence that a Russian special forces or black operations unit is about to test NATO responses in some form of incursion across a NATO border.
Suggestions seem to be Narva in Estonia or in the Daugavpils area of Latvia
Going to be real Batska, but this is probably something you should have said in public....

🇪🇺🇷🇺⚡- "Vladimir Putin is preparing to escalate his war against Ukraine and intensify hybrid attacks on Kyiv’s allies in Europe.
Western intelligence officials believe the Russian leader is laying the ground for a “stealth mobilisation” after the sham elections this weekend, in which thousands of Russians could be drafted.
European defence and security officials say they fear that Russia’s aggression in Ukraine is a precursor to a more concerted campaign of increasingly overt action against Nato territory, which could follow the [ongoing 9th Duma] elections [set to finish tomorrow night]," - The Telegraph.
