There's no reason we couldn't build like this for beauty instead of what was, at the time, necessity. Those from the places I grew up will know this beauty. This is a glorious old image of the Owl Pub on Lippitts Hill, Waltham Abbey, Loughton IG10 4AL in 1905.

Some people live in such peace that they've no idea upheaval exists. And, vice versa.

If something labelled as art is not beautiful, or thought provoking, then it isn't art.

Just stopped for a Jack dash while walking in the remote woodlands of the Peak District and upon turning round jumped out of my skin thanks to my ancestral makeup thinking a wild Boar was about to chase me down.

Its simple images like that cause the most reflection as to how much we've lost.

I doubt our ancestors knew that the harship they suffered would one day, create some of England's most magnificent views.

These fascinating Porsche meets that take place in the car park of the (currently closed) Bull I' Th' Thorn pub carpark in the beautiful Peak District (Ashbourne Road, Buxton SK17 9QQ) are arranged by my good friend Maverik. If you're a Porsche/car owner/enthusiast its worth following him to keep up with these events.

Walk 25 from Pathfinder for the Moors. Goathland, Malayan Spout and the Roman Road. 7 1/2 mile ish with the detours.
Second week in a row with a weather report for sunny spells turning cloudy only to get cloudy turning to sunny spells.
The red lines are the detours we took. The route after Malayan Spout is recommended due to erosion of the original path and is well walked and signposted. The other detours just seem to be the route taken by most people.
Ellie is currently making her way through a 2nd pack of Aldi Serrano and Gouda Rollitos after walking about a mile including the last 1/2 mile in one.
Goathland can get exceptionally busy as it was the set for Heartbeat. National Trust car park is only £4.95 for all day. There is also free parking on the edge of the village and a rival car park charging £4.50.
