Personal Trianers: Too many PT's are con-artists who waste your time to make money out of your trust and insecurities. On average, you're better off asking someone who takes their hobby seriously as opposed to someone who doesn't take their career seriously. When and if I become an official (documented) PT it will be because I want people to feel better about themselves whilst benefiting from the experience. What makes me sick is that many PT's will waste people's time who have sought what they deem to be professional help. So, when the client doesn't see (real) results, their insecurities become worse and they think that they're so genetically inferior that even paying for it won't work. So, they quit, more depressed than ever, and less likely to ever try again. Meaning the PT has literally ruined the very person they're supposed to help. The PT hasn't only wasted their clients time, but stolen the life they could have had. I find it immoral on so many levels. I've helped so many people on my journey and I've always been sickened when I see so-called professionals deliberately confusing or misleading clients. Most don't even look the part either. I won't even detail how absurd some of these new "progressive" PT's are. They've years to go until they set any kind of example. It's like someone who can't speak French being a French language teacher. Documentation alone doesn't make you a PT. Knowledge, experience, pain, repair, injuries and harship does that. Just think about it. Someone comes to you in order to change their life. You use their trust as a form on income only to eventually send them away thinking that they're not cut out for it. It genuinely makes me despair. A PT should want so much custom that they need to get their customers results in order to move on to the next client. Not cling onto one or two for years to make a few quid. On most occasions the personal trainers who are in shape, teach you to do one thing, but then do everything different in order to reach their own goals. They'll have you swinging a kettle bell about like a plum for months. There are some amazing PT's out there, but the majority are absurd. Beware of most leisure centre Personal trainers, they're very guilty of this. Of course disabled people, the elderly, or pregnant ladies need a certain type of assistance. But those who want to see serious results genuinely are better off asking those who'll advise you for free or looking for a private PT that actually gets results. They're a bit like psychiatrists or doctors who'll prescribe you things that make you worse instead of telling you what you really need. Thank you for reading.
