Whilst in Clerkenwell, we noticed this strange railing on the corner of Packenham street and Wren street. Though we concluded that a car had run into it, it looked too perfect to have been an accident. It looks more like a modern art instillation than the result of a crash.

For a very brief time in human history, a few lucky generations of children during the second half of the 20th century were allowed to actually be children.

I've decided to take up air-guitar. I hope that by a few years, I'll be good enough to perform live.

A rare yet beautiful find in London is the resident European Starlings (Sturnus vulgaris), which are a common sight at Borough Market. As seen here, this little legend was perched upon the 19th century 'Market Porter' pub (9 Stoney St, SE1).
You'll often see them waiting around the food stalls and glass atrium to look for goodies to gobble up.
Most of the time (when in London), you tend to see an abundance of pigeons, but the starlings are bold, tame, and a real pleasure to observe. Just look at those feathers and that monumental beak.
Other than their obvious beauty, another amazing characteristic of the Starlings is their mimicry. They're well known for being able to mimic a great many sounds. So don't be surprised if you hear one making the sound of a reversing lorry, mobile phone, market traders, or even your own voice.
You could be hearing noises that you think are natural but are, in fact, Starlings mimicking their surroundings.
We were in awe of this chap whilst out for Pub/History Tours.

If you sent the average person today back a few decades, they'd struggle to cope without the many endorphin pleasing devices that feed technologies mind-altering addiction. They'd fidget, pace, and realise how disconnected they'd become with nature, people, and even themselves.

A lovely image captured in time of the L.S.W.R. Class O2 No. W24 Calbourne at the old Ventnor station, Isle of Wight in the 1960s. I love the way that the phonebox compliments the scene.
