Meet Sophaneth Usphea, an AUPP Civil Engineering graduate whose journey reflects academic excellence, perseverance, and a commitment to advancing Cambodia’s engineering sector.
A graduate of the AUPP–University of Arizona Dual Degree Program in Civil Engineering, Sophaneth continued his academic journey through the prestigious Chevening Scholarship to pursue a Master’s degree in Structural Engineering at the University of Leeds, where he graduated with Distinction.
Today, Sophaneth works as a Structural Engineering Supervisor, applying international engineering knowledge to real-world projects while continuing to contribute to the profession through industry practice and research in structural and fire engineering.

AUPP students had the unique opportunity to learn from Bradley Gordon, the American lawyer whose work has been instrumental in helping the U.S. Department of Justice and the Royal Government of Cambodia repatriate hundreds of ancient Khmer artifacts to their rightful home.
As part of Professor Joshua Wilwohl's Arts & Culture course, Gordon shared insights into the legal, cultural, and international efforts behind the return of Cambodia's stolen heritage. Students explored the importance of cultural preservation, international cooperation, and the role of law in protecting history for future generations.

Students from the Law and Legal Systems 101 course at AUPP recently visited the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC) Resource Center for an educational learning experience.
During the visit, students explored the history of the Khmer Rouge, gained insights into the ECCC's mandate and its role in delivering justice for victims, and learned about its lasting legacy in Cambodia. They also toured the Resource Library, Archives, and Multipurpose Hall, and were introduced to the ECCC Legacy Website as a valuable resource for legal research and historical learning.
