SpongeBob Mortal Kombat crossover when? "We’re investing in our future growth engines alongside our core ambitions in TV, film and direct-to-consumer: Games, experiences, consumer products, and publishing," Gordon wrote in a staff memo (via Variety (https://variety.com/2026/gaming/news/skydance-games-experiences-products-leadership-1236903948/)). "These are core pillars of our strategy to build engagement and fandom in both the physical and digital worlds. We want to meet consumers where they watch, play, and engage." It's still unclear what the future plans are for the growing Skydance gaming division, or how hard it'll be hit by looming layoffs. This branch of Skydance will now be the home to some big WBI developers (https://www.gamespot.com/gallery/netflix-could-own-all-these-warner-bros-game-studios-soon/2900-7310/#14) like Avalanche Software (Hogwarts Legacy), NetherRealm Studios (Mortal Kombat), Rocksteady Studios (Batman: Arkham Series and one Suicide Squad game I don't want to talk about), and TT Games (Various Lego games). Former Activision CEO Bobby Kotick has also joined the board of directors, and Skydance is also producing the Call of Duty movie with Activision (https://www.gamespot.com/articles/call-of-duty-movie-release-date-trailer-story-cast-director-writer/1100-6536962/), which is scheduled to hit theaters in 2028.

Skydance Is Merging Paramount And Warner Bros.’ Game Studios Into One Unit https://www.gamespot.com/articles/skydance-is-merging-paramount-and-warner-bros-game-studios-into-one-unit/ With Paramount's $111 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery (https://www.gamespot.com/articles/warner-bros-games-now-belongs-to-skydance-but-company-makes-no-mention-of-that-in-big-announcement/) in the bag, details on what this merger means for the Warner Bros. game division have finally been revealed. Warner Bros. Interactive will merge with the newly formed Paramount Games Studio, and it'll oversee projects based on Skydance's rich--and newly acquired-library of IP. That lineup includes Avatar: The Last Airbender, South Park, Mortal Kombat, Game of Thrones, and Star Trek--and that's not even mentioning the treasure trove of DC Comics IP (https://www.gamespot.com/articles/paramount-skydance-is-buying-mortal-kombat-and-batman-but-thats-not-all-its-doing-to-expand-its-gaming-footprint/) that the company now owns. The new division will be overseen by Tony Driscoll, president of games and experiences at Skydance, and one of the executives leading corporate strategy and development at the company. Driscoll had previously described video games as a "core pillar" of entertainment, alongside film and TV.

Resident Evil Requiem DLC Could Further Rewrite One Of The Series’ Biggest Villains https://www.gamespot.com/articles/resident-evil-requiem-dlc-could-further-rewrite-one-of-the-series-biggest-villains/ Resident Evil Requiem (https://www.gamespot.com/games/resident-evil-requiem/) is one of this year's biggest hits, and Capcom plans to build on that success with new story DLC. While it hasn't yet revealed when it'll be out or what it's about, one of the game's writers, Haris Orkin, recently teased that the DLC will shed new light on Oswell E. Spencer (https://residentevil.fandom.com/wiki/Oswell_E._Spencer,_Earl_Spencer), one of the biggest villains in the Resident Evil series. "I think villains honestly are really fun to write, because I usually see every villain as a hero of their own story. So the villain is like in their mind they're a hero," Orkin said in an interview with the Distance Nerding podcast. I mean, Victor Gideon thinks he's going to save the world in Requiem. We have an arc for Spencer in Requiem. "Where you understand that more. And then in the DLC you will understand that even further. I probably shouldn't say that, but yeah." https://youtu.be/gaTmFHQdLlo Resident Evil Requiem spoilers below Compared to his appearances in previous Resident Evil games, Oswell E. Spencer is more sympathetic, harboring genuine regret for his role in establishing the Umbrella Corporation, his research on the Progenitor Virus, and his ambitious goal of remaking the world with his bioweapons. As revealed in Requiem--and spoilers if you haven't played it yet--Spencer adopted a baby girl called Grace in 2001, and he successfully developed the powerful antiviral Elpis so that he could eliminate all Progenitor-based viral weapons, as part of his mission to atone for his sins. That version of Spencer is narratively at odds with the version we see in Resident Evil 5, as before his death in 2006 at the hands of Albert Wesker, he was a bit of a bastard who apparently still harbored delusions of grandeur and had started work on a new virus to help him become immortal. Then again, Capcom has been rewriting Resident Evil lore with its remakes, and this new version of Spencer is arguably more fascinating than a stereotypical mustache-twirling villain. While we don't know if Capcom plans to eventually make Resident Evil 5--one of the more controversial entries in the series--it'll be interesting to see if Spencer succumbs to his ambitions once again before Wesker finishes him off. Since its launch, Capcom has updated Resident Evil Requiem with some photography tools and a new "Leon Must Die" mode. Resident Evil producer Jun Takeuchi also spoke about the meaning behind the title, adding to the confusion (https://www.gamespot.com/articles/resident-evil-requiem-producer-explains-games-title-confusing-us-more/). Following the blockbuster success (https://www.gamespot.com/articles/resident-evil-movie-demolishes-franchise-record-after-just-two-weekends/) of Zach Cregger's Resident Evil movie, the next entry in the video game series is out soon. The remake of Resident Evil: Code Veronica (https://www.gamespot.com/articles/resident-evil-veronica-can-fix-one-of-the-series-biggest-mistakes/) launches in 2027.

Can you stream GTA 6 to PC via Xbox Cloud Gaming? This unfortunately isn't a secret route to playing GTA 6 on PC without a console. Xbox recently clarified that GTA 6 will not be streamed to PC through Xbox Cloud Gaming (https://www.gamespot.com/articles/gta-6-will-not-stream-to-pc-through-xbox-despite-earlier-report/), despite an initial report suggesting that Microsoft had secured exclusive streaming rights for the game. Xbox chief strategy officer Matthew Ball said the company is looking forward to launching GTA 6 on Xbox on November 19, but clarified that the game "will not be streaming exclusively or to PC."

Has Rockstar said anything about GTA 6 on PC? Rockstar hasn't officially said anything about GTA 6 on PC yet. GTA 6's current platform information only lists PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and the official website does not mention a PC version. However, Take-Two's comments have made it nearly impossible to believe that PC players will be permanently left behind. Zelnick said that Rockstar has "started with some platforms and then historically moved to others (https://www.gamespot.com/articles/gta-6-exec-talks-approach-to-pc-releases-but-doesnt-confirm-anything/1100-6529346/)". He's also acknowledged that PC is an increasingly important part of the company's business. That's about as close to an official confirmation we've got so far. Will the GTA 6 PC version have extra features? Rockstar's PC versions have historically been more than simple ports. GTA 5 eventually became the foundation for the PC version's impressive graphics settings and modding scene, while RDR2's PC release added visual enhancements designed for more powerful hardware. It's possible that Rockstar will use the time to make the PC version the definitive technical edition of GTA 6. That's also consistent with Ricchio's explanation that the studio's console-first approach gives it more room to push the PC version later. The GTA 6 PC version could potentially offer higher resolutions, more advanced graphics settings, ultrawide support, higher frame rates, or other features. Inevitably, there will be mods.

Why isn't GTA 6 coming to PC at launch? Zelnick explained earlier in 2026 that Rockstar traditionally prioritizes its core audience on console first. He specifically rejected the idea that a PlayStation marketing agreement was responsible for GTA 6 skipping PC (https://www.gamespot.com/articles/why-gta-6-is-not-coming-to-pc-at-launch-and-its-not-due-to-a-playstation-deal/1100-6539775/) at launch, reiterating that Rockstar has historically gone to console first. Zelnick also said that PC can now account for 45-50% of sales for a major title, compared with a much smaller share when he joined the company. A PC version of GTA 6 therefore represents a huge potential audience. Former Rockstar producer John Ricchio also explained that starting development with console hardware constraints gives the studio more room to build a PC version later (https://www.gamespot.com/articles/former-rockstar-dev-explains-gta-6-console-first-approach/). Essentially, it's easier to expand a game for more powerful hardware than to take a PC-focused game and make it run properly on consoles. For a game as technically ambitious as GTA 6 appears to be, that explains the console-first approach. How long did GTA 5 take to come to PC? When trying to predict the GTA 6 PC release date, this is the most useful historical evidence. GTA 5 launched on PS3 and Xbox 360 in September 2013. The PC version was released in April 2015. That's a gap of roughly 19 months. Rockstar subsequently released GTA 5 on PS4 and Xbox One in November 2014, meaning the PC version arrived around five months after the game's second console launch. With next-gen consoles on the horizon, it's not unthinkable that the company might take a similar approach, although no release dates for the next PlayStation and Xbox consoles have been discussed yet. There are other examples, too. L.A. Noire came to PC around six months after its console release, while GTA 4's PC version arrived roughly a year and a half after the original console launch. Red Dead Redemption 2 launched on PS4 and Xbox One in October 2018, with the PC version following 13 months later, in November 2019. The longest wait for an official PC version was Red Dead Redemption, though, which didn't come to PC for another 14 years (https://www.gamespot.com/articles/red-dead-redemption-is-finally-on-pc-more-than-14-years-later/1100-6527449/)after releasing on console.

GTA 6 PC Release Date Estimate, Rumors, And News https://www.gamespot.com/articles/gta-6-pc-release-date-estimate-rumors-and-news/ Grand Theft Auto 6 (https://www.gamespot.com/games/grand-theft-auto-vi/)is almost here. Well, almost here for console players, anyway. Rockstar's hugely anticipated open-world crime game is officially scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, but PC players will have to wait a little longer before they can dive in. GTA 6 PC release date estimate Our best guess for the GTA 6 PC release date is Q1 2028, putting the PC version roughly 15-18 months after the console launch. That's not based on a leak or any insider claim; instead we've looked at Rockstar's history of later PC release dates to inform our estimate. That's earlier than the 19-month wait that PC players endured for GTA 5, and later than the 12-month gap between Red Dead Redemption 2's console and PC releases. We're more confident in this estimate since Twitch CEO Dan Clancy let slip that GTA 6 Online would be sometime in 2027. Clancy theorized a bump to Twitch viewership in 2027 "when they launch multiplayer." This could mean Rockstar plans to refine and release the GTA 6 multiplayer experience prior to the PC release. Having said that, Rockstar hasn't officially announced a PC version of GTA 6 at all. The company currently only lists PS6 and Xbox Series X|S as official platforms for the game. However, it would be incredibly surprising if GTA 6 never came to PC. Rockstar's last two major releases eventually made the jump, and Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has repeatedly acknowledged how important PC has become (https://www.gamespot.com/articles/gta-6-boss-says-pc-is-becoming-more-and-more-important/) to the business.

GTA 6 Will Not Stream To PC Through Xbox, Despite Earlier Report https://www.gamespot.com/articles/gta-6-will-not-stream-to-pc-through-xbox-despite-earlier-report/ PC players hoping to find a way to play GTA 6 (https://www.gamespot.com/games/grand-theft-auto-vi/) when it launches on consoles next month must be feeling pretty disappointed, as Microsoft has clarified that Grand Theft Auto 6 will not be available to stream to PC via Xbox Cloud Gaming. The news comes after an earlier report claimed Xbox had secured exclusive streaming rights to Rockstar's highly anticipated game. The clarification came from Xbox chief strategy officer Matthew Ball, who addressed The Verge (https://www.theverge.com/report/1005859/microsoft-xbox-gta-6-streaming-rights)'s report. Ball said the excitement surrounding GTA 6 and Xbox had resulted in some inaccurate reporting. His full statement read, "While the excitement for GTAVI and XBOX is great to see, it has also led to some misreporting. We are looking forward to launching GTAVI on Xbox November 19, though the game will not be streaming exclusively or to PC." That means, sadly for PC players, that you shouldn't expect to fire up Xbox Cloud Gaming on November 19 and find yourself wandering around Vice City without a console. https://twitter.com/ballmatthew/status/2107667069797802443?s=20 The original report from The Verge claimed that Microsoft had secured exclusive game-streaming rights for GTA 6, citing sources familiar with the company's plans. The report followed comments from Xbox CEO Asha Sharma, who apparently told employees that Microsoft was preparing to do something with GTA 6 that "no other platform holder is doing." The report suggested the arrangement could have been significant for PC players, who as of yet, don't know when they'll be able to get their hands on the game. Rockstar has yet to announce a PC version of GTA 6, with the game officially confirmed for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A streaming arrangement could have offered PC players a way to play the game at launch without waiting for the GTA 6 PC release date. The confusion arrives at a pretty interesting time for Xbox Cloud Gaming. Microsoft is making significant changes to the service in November, including introducing a pay-as-you-go option and changing the amount of cloud gaming time available across Game Pass (https://www.gamespot.com/articles/game-pass-is-getting-worse-and-more-expensive/) tiers.
