| 2 | Epstein bounced a tuition check to NYU written on his mother’s account | Jeffrey Epstein’s history of exploiting women began decades ago — and his first victim was his mother
👇
Long before Jeffrey Epstein became the world’s most notorious sex offender, he committed an act that foreshadowed a lifetime of manipulating women — and his first victim was his own mother.
According to a researcher examining Epstein’s early years, the disgraced financier’s pattern of exploiting women began decades before his sex-trafficking empire came crashing down.
“His mother Paula adored him,” CUNY sociology professor Thomas Volscho, who is researching a book on wealthy sex traffickers, told The Post. “Both his parents were remembered as hardworking, well liked people from a simple Brooklyn family.”
Yet, one of the earliest documented controversies involving Epstein centered on his leaving his family in the lurch while a student at NYU.
According to a May 1976 report by Fidelifacts, New York University took Epstein to civil court in December 1975 after receiving an invalid tuition payment.
“He wrote a check on his mother’s checking account for his tuition and the check bounced,” Volscho told NYU student newspaper Washington Square News.
“When NYU sent a debt collector to his address, his brother answered the door and said he’d gone off to Europe and then coughed up like three or four hundred dollars of the thousand-odd dollars owed.”
The NYU lawsuit was later settled, but the incident is an early glimpse into a pattern that would define Epstein’s life.
Survivors revealed that Epstein — who left NYU without a degree and lied to prospective employer Bear Stearns about his education — repeatedly used promises of admission and tuition payments at New York University and other elite institutions to lure and control his victims, according to the House Committee on the Judiciary.

| 3 | Epstein dissolved the bones of his victims?
Zorro Ranch keeps getting darker. Sulfuric acid, cement trucks, underground facilities, and allegations of evidence being buried before the public could ever see the full Epstein operation. Liz Crokin goes over the details.

He told them the entire operation, 17 years ago.
And the FBI did NOTHING.

| 6 | What's missing from the Epstein files?
Questions persist about unexplained redactions, missing documents, email gaps
When the Department of Justice released more than 3 million pages of documents under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, survivors, advocates and lawmakers quickly raised questions about an apparent discrepancy: the DOJ had said it collected more than 6 million pages of material during its investigation but was only releasing half that number.
The Justice Department tells CBS News it "has released every document required by the Epstein Files Transparency Act," and maintains that those unreleased 3 million documents were either duplicative, unrelated to Epstein or protected by legal privilege.
But concerns persist about evidence that important documents are still being withheld.
CBS News has analyzed the archive not only for what has been disclosed, but also for documents that appear to be absent. Our key findings include:
➡️Questionable redactions, including public figures' names
➡️Most Epstein emails from older accounts not included in files
➡️Missing email attachments
➡️No record of Signal communications
➡️Lack of massage scheduling records after 2009
➡️Missing prison surveillance footage
➡️Missing documents from DEA investigation into Epstein
➡️Other potentially relevant materials from ICE, Treasury, CIA and other agencies were not included because the law only applies to DOJ records.
The Government Accountability Office recently announced it was launching an investigation into the way documents that were released had information blacked out.
That move comes at the request of several members of Congress.

Jeffrey Epstein’s attorneys were in discussions with prosecutors before his death about potentially trying to get him a more lenient sentence if he gave up information that could help them in other cases, The New York Times reported Tuesday—with notes suggesting Epstein wanted to pass along information about President Donald Trump.
Key Facts
➡️Following Epstein’s arrest in 2019, his attorneys were in discussions with federal prosecutors about the idea of a “proffer,” the Times reports, in which Epstein could provide helpful information about other defendants in exchange for a more lenient sentence for himself.
➡️It’s unclear how far those discussions proceeded or who else Epstein could have had information on—though Epstein reportedly tried to determine if he had “leverage” against associates like billionaire Bill Gates—but the Times reports the late financier was “preoccupied” with trying to provide information about Trump, based on notes he took at the time.
➡️Epstein’s notes suggest he didn’t actually have anything noteworthy about Trump—then in his first term—however, making only vague comments like, “Trump is a total con artist — smoke & mirrors” and “Never had money.”
➡️Epstein and Trump were previously friends before having a falling out in the early 2000s, but the president has long denied having any knowledge of Epstein’s alleged abuse or committing any wrongdoing in relation to the late financier.
➡️The Times’ reporting was part of a broader account about Epstein’s time in prison and subsequent death in prison, with new evidence supporting the conclusion that Epstein died by suicide and was not murdered, as some have suggested.
➡️The Justice Department has not yet responded to a request for comment.

| 16 | 💥💥‼️‼️‼️
Late in the afternoon of July 6, 2019, about a dozen F.B.I. agents and New York Police Department officers gathered at Teterboro Airport in New Jersey, waiting out of view of the tarmac so as not to spook their quarry.
The day before, they received an email informing them that a private jet would be arriving at 5:20 p.m.
Attached to the email was an arrest warrant for its lone passenger, Jeffrey Epstein.
Returning from Paris, Epstein was making plans on his phone: a trip to his private island in the Caribbean, a documentary interview with Stephen K. Bannon, President Trump’s former adviser.
When the plane touched down, customs agents boarded to check the passports of Epstein and the plane’s two pilots.
Then they escorted Epstein into the terminal, where an F.B.I. agent and a detective told him he was under arrest.
Epstein appeared shocked. He managed to send one last message to Bannon: “All canceled.”
Bannon wrote back immediately. “you r not coming in?” There was no reply.
As the F.B.I. agents drove Epstein to Manhattan, he asked two questions.
“Is this sex trafficking?” “Is this about underage?” It was.
The F.B.I. and federal prosecutors had quietly opened a new investigation eight months earlier into Epstein’s activities in New York, focusing on victims who had not been interviewed in his decade-old sex-crimes case in Florida.
While Epstein was abroad, he was indicted under seal on charges of trafficking minors for sex. If found guilty, he faced up to 45 years in prison — a sentence far worse than the 13 months he had served in Palm Beach after a plea deal in 2008.
“Oh, this is bad,” he said aloud as he was booked into federal custody. “This is really bad.”

| 17 | Jeffrey Epstein’s death in federal custody in August 2019, which was ruled a suicide by New York City’s medical examiner, has been the subject of suspicion and intrigue for nearly seven years.
The belief that Epstein was murdered, perhaps by someone with an interest in keeping him quiet, is widely held.
For the most in-depth investigation yet into his death, we consulted tens of thousands of pages of newly released documents, obtained Epstein’s own notes handwritten in jail — never before made public — and interviewed dozens of people related to the case.
[HERE] are six takeaways from our article in The Times Magazine.
Lots of new evidence suggests that Epstein was determined to end his life.
Some important aspects of Epstein’s last days remain unknown or mysterious — but an unknown is not the same thing as an alternative explanation.
Our analysis of the security and staffing of the jail determined that entry to his cell by a would-be murderer in the period before his death would almost certainly have required an elaborate plot involving numerous participants with extensive, precise knowledge of the facility’s particular security systems, malfunctions of those systems and security protocols.
In scores of interviews and the cache of documents, we found no indication that such a plot existed.
By contrast, we found abundant evidence — much of it never before revealed — that for weeks before his death, Epstein had written about and discussed the idea of suicide and attempted it at least once, and possibly three times.

| 18 | Frankel asks House panel to question Jeffrey Epstein prosecutors
Rep. Lois Frankel is urging the House to subpoena officials involved in Jeffrey Epstein's 2008 plea deal, including State Attorney Barry Krischer.
➡️U.S. Rep. Lois Frankel is requesting the House Oversight Committee to subpoena officials involved in Jeffrey Epstein's 2008 plea deal.
➡️Frankel wants former prosecutors and police to testify about the 2006 grand jury proceedings and the nonprosecution agreement.
➡️The goal is to understand how Epstein received a lenient deal and how to prevent similar outcomes in the future.
U.S. Rep. Lois Frankel has asked the House Oversight Committee to subpoena Palm Beach County prosecutors and officials connected to Jeffrey Epstein's 2008 plea deal.
In a June 12 letter to Chair James Comer and Ranking Member Robert Garcia, Frankel asked the committee to put under oath former State Attorney Barry Krischer and former prosecutors Lanna Belohlavek and Mary Ann Duggan, along with former Palm Beach Police Chief Michael Reiter and "any other relevant witnesses."
Frankel, who was mayor of West Palm Beach from 2003 to 2011, said their testimony should address the 2006 state grand jury proceedings and the 2008 nonprosecution agreement, which she called "one of the greatest miscarriages of justice in modern history."
Frankel: Epstein victims never told of 'infamous secret plea deal'
Palm Beach police investigated Epstein for nearly a year before presenting the case to Krischer.
They'd found more than a dozen teenage girls who described either being molested or sexually assaulted in Epstein's mansion.
Reiter said in a 2009 deposition that Krischer and his top prosecutors initially seemed outraged by Epstein's behavior.
Their minds seemed to change at the prodding of Alan Dershowitz, Epstein's famed attorney, according to court documents.

| 19 | Democratic Texas state Rep. James Talarico demanded the exposure of powerful Jeffrey Epstein enablers.
The problem is that he takes money from someone who has documented ties to the predator as he runs to replace Sen. John Cornyn.
Back in November, Talarico demanded transparency on the Epstein Files.
🔴 When did pedophilia become a partisan issue?
The American people deserve to know the full truth about Jeffrey Epstein and every powerful person who enabled him.
Every name. Every flight log. Every cover up. All of it. 🔴
Talarico has also used Epstein in his attacks on Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who is the Republicans’ Senate nominee.
🔴 Ken Paxton just gave an Epstein-style deal to a pedophile.
Paxton released Adam Hoffman — an admitted child rapist — back on our streets after Paxton’s rich lawyer friend got involved.
The Epstein Class has no place in Texas. Ken Paxton has no place in the US Senate.🔴
Talarico has portrayed himself as a crusader against government corruption. But now, people are bringing up his donors, one of which includes LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman.
A super PAC supporting Talarico has received oodles of cash from Hoffman, the Texas Tribune reported.
The Lone Star Rising PAC took $1.5 million from Hoffman, a major donor to Democratic candidates. It raised almost $9 million and spent most of it on ads backing Talarico during the primary race.
Yet, Talarico hasn’t only attacked those who “enabled” Epstein, he has also railed against the influence of billionaires in politics.
In fact, he even vowed to push for banning super PACs for this reason. Another example of “do as I say, not as I do.”
