It's finished! I really enjoyed doing this commission. It's not often that I get to merge pyrography with music. 🎼

Hell yeah... Im so excited about my first turning! I tried a long time ago with black walnut cross-grain (very difficult, especially with dull gouges). Hadnt taken a stab at it again in about 6 years. Not great, but Im happy with my first realistic attempt 😁 My current carving project required a "bowl", so this will serve nicely.

The finished piece. I'll call her Blue Heart. This is 100% hemp featuring no metal, beads, or closure (perfect for those with very sensitive skin!). It's just simple knots and will get softer and nicer as time goes on. It has made a great piece to work on while meditating or reading. This style will also be used for bracelets and anklets and is completely customizable and could include beads or clasps, and near-future projects certainly will. I haven't done this kind of project in over a decade, but within minutes of picking it up again, my hands remembered. It's a little thing that's bringing me solitude and happiness. Thanks for taking a look!

This is the start of something lovely 😍 The Celtic heart knot is one of my favorites ever. It's symbolic of love and is fabled to be a knot that was exchanged by bride and groom (in lieu of our modern practice of exchanging rings). The history of this art form is fascinating and beautiful and so multi faceted! By most accounts this is a modern adaptation of true knotwork by the Kells, and most likely was popularized in the 13th century.

I never thought that I would be shading in angel intestines... but here we are. 😆

I've had some people ask, so I figured I would make a post. My friends on here know me by my first name, which is Mandi. Some of you may know me from my former music project name which was Hiraeth. Others might know me from my wood burned art under the name Solace Creations. Either way, I'm glad you found this page. I thank you all for being here and for your interest in my music. I really look forward to sharing this EP with you. ✨
