جولة ميدانية للسلك الدبلوماسي إلى سبسطية لدعم ترشيحها على قائمة التراث العالمي نظّمت وزارة الخارجية والمغتربين، بالشراكة مع وزارة السياحة والآثار ومحافظة نابلس، وبلدية سبسطية اليوم الاثنين، جولة ميدانية للسلك الدبلوماسي المعتمد لدى دولة فلسطين إلى الموقع الأثري في بلدة سبسطية، في إطار الجهود الحكومية الرامية إلى حماية الارض والتاريخ من السرقة والتزوير، وفي اطار دعم ترشيح البلدة للإدراج على قائمة التراث العالمي، والاطلاع عن كثب على ما يتعرض له الموقع من انتهاكات وإجراءات الاحتلال التي تستهدف طابعه التاريخي والتراثي، وتهدف الى الضم والاستعمار. وخلال الجولة، اقتحمت قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي، برفقة مستوطنين، الموقع الأثري، في مشهد جسّد واقع الاعتداءات والانتهاكات التي تستهدف البلدة وتراثها الثقافي. وشارك في الجولة عدد من السفراء وممثلي الدول المعتمدين لدى دولة فلسطين، بحضور وزير السياحة والآثار هاني الحايك، ومحافظ نابلس غسان دغلس، ووكيل وزارة الخارجية والمغتربين للشؤون السياسية السفير عمر عوض الله، ورئيس بلدية سبسطية محمد عازم، حيث استمع الوفد إلى شرح حول الأهمية التاريخية والإنسانية للموقع، والجهود الفلسطينية المبذولة لحمايته وتعزيز فرص إدراجه على قائمة التراث العالمي. وأكد وزير السياحة والآثار هاني الحايك أن الجولة تهدف إلى تعريف أعضاء السلك الدبلوماسي بحقيقة ما يتعرض له الموقع الأثري في سبسطية من إجراءات إسرائيلية غير قانونية أحادية الجانب تعيق الجهود الفلسطينية الرامية إلى حماية الموقع وصون قيمته التاريخية، مشيرًا إلى أن وزارة السياحة والآثار، بالتعاون مع المؤسسات الوطنية والدولية، تواصل العمل على تدويل ملف سبسطية، بعد تسليم ملف الترشيح إلى منظمة اليونسكو تمهيدًا لبحثه قريبا. من جانبه، استعرض محافظ نابلس غسان دغلس واقع الانتهاكات والإجراءات الإسرائيلية التي تستهدف البلدة، داعيًا المجتمع الدولي إلى تحمل مسؤولياته واتخاذ خطوات فاعلة لحماية التراث الثقافي الفلسطيني ووقف الاعتداءات المتواصلة عليه. كما استعرض وكيل وزارة الخارجية والمغتربين للشؤون السياسية د. عمر عوض الله السياسات والجرائم لاسرائيلية الممنهجة ضد الارض والشعب والتاريخ الفلسطيني، وان سبسطية احدى هذه الامثلة، كما تطرق للجهود الدبلوماسية التي تبذلها دولة فلسطين على المستويين الإقليمي والدولي لحشد الدعم لملف سبسطية وتعزيز فرص إدراجها على قائمة التراث العالمي، فيما أكد رئيس بلدية سبسطية الأهمية التاريخية والحضارية للبلدة، مثمنًا جهود كافة الشركاء في إعداد ملف الترشيح باعتباره خطوة أساسية نحو حماية الموقع والحفاظ على إرثه التاريخي، وارث الشعب الفلسطيني الذي يتعرض لانتهاكات جسيمة لحقوقه كافة، بما فيها حقوقه الثقافية. وشملت الجولة زيارة مركز التفسير التابع لوزارة السياحة والآثار، والساحة الرومانية (الفورم)، ومتحف موقع سبسطية، حيث اطّلع الوفد على عرض حول القيمة العالمية الاستثنائية للموقع ومسوغات إدراجه على قائمة التراث العالمي، بما يسهم في حشد الدعم الدولي لحماية هذا الإرث الثقافي الفلسطيني.
