1) राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों के पूर्व स्वर्ण पदक विजेता नरसिंह पंचम यादव को भारतीय कुश्ती महासंघ (डब्ल्यूएफआई) के एथलीट आयोग का अध्यक्ष चुना गया।
2) रॉयटर्स के फोटोग्राफर मोहम्मद सलेम ने 18 अप्रैल को गाजा पट्टी में अपनी पांच वर्षीय भतीजी के शव को गोद में लिए एक फिलिस्तीनी महिला की तस्वीर के लिए प्रतिष्ठित 2024 वर्ल्ड प्रेस फोटो ऑफ द ईयर पुरस्कार जीता।
3) विद्युत मंत्रालय के तहत एक प्रमुख गैर-बैंकिंग वित्त कंपनी ग्रामीण विद्युतीकरण निगम (आरईसी) लिमिटेड को भारत में पात्र हरित परियोजनाओं के वित्तपोषण के लिए जापानी येन (जेपीवाई) 60.536 बिलियन का हरित ऋण प्राप्त हुआ है।
4) नेपाल ने एलजीबीटी पर्यटकों के लिए देश को एक सुरक्षित और समावेशी गंतव्य के रूप में बढ़ावा देने के उद्देश्य से काठमांडू में अपना पहला अंतर्राष्ट्रीय इंद्रधनुष पर्यटन सम्मेलन आयोजित किया।
5) अमिताभ चौधरी को एक्सिस बैंक के प्रबंध निदेशक (एमडी) और मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी (सीईओ) के रूप में फिर से नियुक्त किया गया है।
➨ एक्सिस बैंक के बोर्ड ने अगले तीन वर्षों के लिए अमिताभ चौधरी की पुनर्नियुक्ति को मंजूरी दे दी।
6) एक ऐतिहासिक फैसले में, सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने घोषणा की कि अनिवार्य मातृत्व अवकाश के साथ-साथ दो साल की चाइल्डकैअर छुट्टी, महिला कर्मचारियों के लिए एक संवैधानिक अधिकार है। मुख्य न्यायाधीश डी वाई चंद्रचूड़ की अगुवाई वाली पीठ ने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि इस तरह की छुट्टी से इनकार करने से महिलाओं को इस्तीफा देने के लिए मजबूर होना पड़ता है।
7) विश्व फुटबॉल नियामक संस्था फीफा (फेडरेशन इंटरनेशनेल डी फुटबॉल एसोसिएशन) ने सऊदी अरब की तेल दिग्गज कंपनी अरामको के साथ एक प्रमुख प्रायोजन समझौते की घोषणा की है। इस समझौते के तहत, अरामको कंपनी 2027 तक फीफा के प्रमुख टूर्नामेंटों को प्रायोजित करेगी।
8) एक उल्लेखनीय खोज में, आईआईटी रूड़की के शोधकर्ताओं ने एक नई साँप प्रजाति के जीवाश्म की खोज की है जो लगभग 47 मिलियन वर्ष पहले गुजरात में रहते थे।
➨ शोधकर्ताओं ने दावा किया है कि यह प्रजाति भारतीय वंश के साथ दुनिया में रहने वाले अब तक के सबसे बड़े सांपों में से एक है।
9) राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू ने राष्ट्रपति भवन में एक समारोह में वरिष्ठ गायिका उषा उत्थुप को कला के क्षेत्र में पद्म भूषण से सम्मानित किया।

10) "भारतीय मनोविज्ञान के जनक" सुधीर कक्कड़ का 85 वर्ष की आयु में निधन हो गया।
12) श्रीलंका सरकार ने हंबनटोटा में चीन द्वारा निर्मित मट्टाला राजपक्षे अंतर्राष्ट्रीय हवाई अड्डे का प्रबंधन एक भारतीय और रूसी कंपनी को सौंपने का निर्णय लिया है।
13) आईपी सुरक्षा के महत्व और नवाचार और रचनात्मकता को बढ़ावा देने में बौद्धिक संपदा की भूमिका के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के लिए हर साल 26 अप्रैल को विश्व बौद्धिक संपदा दिवस मनाया जाता है।
➨ विश्व बौद्धिक संपदा दिवस 2024 का विषय "आईपी और एसडीजी: नवाचार और रचनात्मकता के साथ हमारे सामान्य भविष्य का निर्माण" है।
14) भारतीय वायु सेना (आईएएफ) ने हवा से प्रक्षेपित मध्यम दूरी की बैलिस्टिक मिसाइल के नए संस्करण का सफलतापूर्वक परीक्षण करके एक महत्वपूर्ण उपलब्धि हासिल की है।
➨ ROCKS या क्रिस्टल मेज़ 2 कोडनेम वाली इस मिसाइल का परीक्षण अंडमान और निकोबार द्वीप समूह में Su-30 MKI फाइटर जेट से किया गया था।

2) Reuters photographer Mohammed Salem won the prestigious 2024 World Press Photo of the Year award on April 18 for his image of a Palestinian woman cradling the body of her five-year-old niece in the Gaza Strip.
3) Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) Limited, a leading non-banking finance company under the Ministry of Power, has received a green loan of Japanese Yen (JPY) 60.536 billion to finance eligible green projects in India.
4) Nepal hosted its first International Rainbow Tourism Conference in Kathmandu, with an objective to promote the country as a safe and inclusive destination for LGBT tourists.
5) Amitabh Chaudhry has been re-appointed as the managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO) of Axis Bank.
➨ The Board of the Axis Bank approved the re-appointment of Amitabh Chaudhry for the next three years.
6) In a landmark ruling, the Supreme Court declared that two-year childcare leave, alongside mandatory maternity leave, is a constitutional right for women employees. The bench, led by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud, emphasized that denying such leave forces women to resign.
7) The world football governing body FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) announced a major sponsorship deal with the Saudi Arabian oil giant Aramco. Under the deal, Aramco company would sponsor major FIFA tournaments until 2027.
8) In a remarkable discovery, IIT Roorkee researchers discovered fossils of a new snake species that used to live in Gujarat about 47 million years ago.
➨ The researchers have claimed that this species is supposedly the largest snake ever to have lived in the world with an Indian lineage.
9) President Droupadi Murmu conferred Padma Bhushan on veteran singer Usha Uthup in the field of Arts at a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
