PCE vs CPI: MARKET WATCHES CPI, FED WATCHES PCE
Hello everyone, Henry has noticed that many traders wonder: if the Fed prioritizes PCE, why does the market react more strongly to CPI? This is an important concept to understand how news truly impacts financial markets.
CPI tends to have a stronger immediate market reaction because it is released earlier, more widely followed, and has become the standard reference traders react to over time. It also tends to create more emotional and volatile price movements in the short term.
On the other hand, PCE is the actual inflation measure the Federal Reserve uses to guide monetary policy. This means that while CPI drives short-term volatility, PCE has a stronger influence on the Fed’s long-term interest rate decisions.
Henry wants to emphasize:
CPI reflects market reaction
PCE reflects Fed decision-making
For example, CPI may come out lower than expected and push gold higher immediately. However, if PCE later remains elevated, the Fed may still maintain a hawkish stance, causing gold’s bullish move to lose strength over time.
Therefore, focusing only on CPI can lead to an incomplete view of the market.

| 17 | 📊 HOW TO READ THE MARKET WITH HENRY | MID-US SESSION
1. What is the current trend?
Gold is in a short-term recovery phase after rebounding strongly from the 3972–3980 Demand Zone. Price is currently moving inside an ascending channel, with higher lows showing that buyers remain in control.
2. Why is this zone important?
The 4048–4056 area is the nearest key resistance, where strong selling pressure previously appeared and where resting liquidity may still exist. This zone is likely to decide whether the recovery can continue.
3. Today's Scenario
If price gets rejected at 4048–4056, Gold may pull back toward 3994–4001. However, a confirmed breakout above resistance could open the way toward the 4056–4098 Supply Zone, and later the 4125–4145 Liquidity Zone.
4. What is Henry watching?
Henry is watching price behavior around 4048–4056 and whether 3994–4001 can hold as support. These two areas will help determine whether the current recovery structure remains valid.
5. Henry's Lesson
In a recovery move, the first resistance zone is often the true test of buyer strength. Price going up is not enough, what matters is whether order flow is strong enough to absorb the supply waiting above. | 3 |
| 18 |  😎HENRY TRADING | XAUUSD MID-US SESSION OUTLOOK
Henry observes that gold has staged a strong rebound from the 3,972 – 3,980 Demand Zone after completing a short-term accumulation structure. Price is currently advancing within an ascending channel, indicating that buyers remain in control of the ongoing recovery phase.
However, price is now approaching the key Resistance Zone at 4,048 – 4,056, an area where strong selling pressure emerged previously and where significant resting liquidity may still exist. If price reaches this zone but fails to break through convincingly, a corrective pullback could develop.
Above the resistance, the 4,056 – 4,098 Supply Zone represents the next major obstacle. Should buyers successfully absorb the available supply in this area, the next upside objective would be the 4,125 – 4,145 Liquidity Zone, where Henry expects a larger concentration of market liquidity.
On the downside, 3,994 – 4,001 is acting as the nearest support area. This zone has recently flipped from resistance into support following the latest bullish breakout. A successful retest and hold above this area would strengthen the bullish recovery structure.
If sellers regain control and push price back below 3,994, the market may revisit the 3,972 – 3,980 Demand Zone. A decisive break beneath that area would invalidate the current recovery structure and increase the probability of a broader bearish continuation.
Main Outlook: Henry continues to favor the bullish scenario in the short term as long as price remains inside the ascending channel and continues forming higher lows. However, the 4,048 – 4,056 Resistance Zone is the key decision area. A strong rejection there could trigger a corrective decline, while a confirmed breakout would open the path toward the Supply Zone and eventually the Liquidity Zone above. | 3 |

Market structure shows bullish potential as price retraces into the 4001–4003 discount zone. This area aligns with sell-side liquidity below recent swing highs, where Smart Money may accumulate positions after a liquidity sweep. The broader order flow supports a potential bullish continuation if demand reacts strongly.
REASON TO ENTER THE TRADE
Buy entry is confirmed only after bullish price action signals such as a rejection wick, bullish engulfing, or strong momentum reaction from 4001–4003. These confirmations indicate that sell-side liquidity has been taken and buyers are regaining control, increasing the probability of continuation toward higher targets. | 4 |
