The market remains in a corrective phase after a strong rally, while the broader H4 bearish structure is still intact. 2. Why is this zone important? The 4,200 area is acting as a critical battlefield between buyers and sellers. Although buyers defended the level, major supply zones above price remain unbroken. Every recovery attempt continues to face selling pressure, suggesting institutional money has not yet confirmed its return. 3. Below, the 4104 zone is still acting as a short-term reaction area. If price can hold this level, gold may continue to stage recovery moves and seek liquidity above before deciding on its next major direction. On Wednesday 2:30pm, Core Retail Sales at 0.5% vs 0.7% forecast and Retail Sales at 0.5% inline reflect consumer strength cooling slightly. At 8:00pm, the spotlight shifts to the Fed Funds Rate at 3.75% unchanged, alongside FOMC Economic Projections and Statement. Here, the market trades expectations, not just numbers. A shift in dot plot can quickly reprice XAUUSD. At 8:30pm, the FOMC Press Conference becomes the real driver, where tone defines direction. On Thursday, Philly Fed 11.4 vs -0.4 and Jobless Claims 225K vs 229K show a relatively stable US economy, supporting USD sentiment in the short term.
