India’s First Lock Museum
🟢 India’s first lock museum is being built in
Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, known as
Tala Nagri (City of Locks).
🟢 The museum will showcase
150 years of Aligarh’s lock-making heritage, from traditional locks to modern digital and cyber-security systems.
🟢 Features include live
lock-making workshops, children’s area, food court, souvenir shops, auditorium and a business platform for local manufacturers.

Wish Wall – Visitors can attach locks as symbols of prayers or messages.

Danish Ship ‘Elephant’ – Tharangambadi
🟢 A model of the Danish frigate
Elephant was donated to the
Tranquebar Maritime Museum, Tamil Nadu.
🟢 Believed to be the first Danish ship to reach
Tharangambadi in 1620.
🟢 The fleet was commanded by
Admiral Ove Gedde and reached Tharangambadi on
13 September 1620.
🟢 A treaty with the
Naik of Thanjavur led to Danish presence and construction of
Fort Dansborg.
🟢 The model was built by
Koge Maritime Model Builders’ Guild, Denmark.
