At #БГМУМинздраваРоссии, a community of entrepreneurs is actively taking shape 😎 Just this year, students generated 15 ideas and even received support from the federal competition "Student Startup" to implement them. We are telling you about the projects of our startups. 📌Yaroslava Abramishvili is a 4th-year student in the "Biology" program, a laboratory assistant at the Human Microbiome Laboratory, creating a domestic test system for detecting the bacterium Hafnia alvei. This bacterium is a potential next-generation probiotic for weight control. It affects satiety signals in the brain and improves metabolism. Yaroslava plans to create a test system that will allow doctors and scientists to quickly and inexpensively find this specific marker, without paying for comprehensive screenings of the entire microbiome. "Our idea is to create a specialized tool that will allow a laboratory to get an answer for a specific microbial marker. This approach can make analysis more accessible for applied research and clinical laboratory practice," notes Yaroslava. BSMU students took part in the International Forum “Russia United Us in Friendship” 🌍

A large-scale International Forum “Russia United Us in Friendship,” organized by the Association of Foreign Students of Russia (AFS), was held in the Kaluga region at the Ethnomir ethnographic park-museum. The event brought together international students from different regions of the country to discuss current issues in media development, project activities, and intercultural communication.

As part of the forum, participants attended lectures from invited speakers who conducted workshops on grant writing, effective project defense, and modern trends in the media environment. An intellectual quiz was also held, where teams could test their knowledge and strengthen team spirit.

It is especially pleasing that our native Bashkortostan was worthily represented by students of Bashkir State Medical University and Ufa University of Science and Technology (UUST). The students demonstrated a high level of training, an active civic position, and the ability to work in a team.

We thank the AFS for the unique platform for development, exchange of experience, and strengthening friendly ties between students from different countries. BSMU is proud of its students and always supports their desire for new knowledge and projects! 🇷🇺❤️

🩺BSMU Students gain clinical experience at Glukhovskaya

5 students from 13 to 21 August 2026, spent nine beautiful days at Sanatorium Glukhovskaya for their summer hospital practice, guided by their wonderful curator, Nazarova Alfiya Idrisovna🩺 But these days turned out to be about much more than medicine. Along with their hospital practice, our students got the chance to experience everyday life here eating together, talking and laughing with local people, learning traditional crafts, dancing, sharing stories, and simply enjoying each other’s company. 🌾✨ What started as a hospital practice slowly became a little journey into the heart of the local culture. They came as students, but left with new friendships, warm memories, and moments they will carry with them for a long time.

👨‍⚕️🇮🇳 Future doctors from India completed an internship at Mesyagutovskaya Hospital.

Students from Bashkir State Medical University, who came to study in Russia from India, did their internship at Mesyagutovskaya Central District Hospital 🏥. The hospital's head doctor, Denis Borisovich Shafikov, met with them for a live Q&A session 🗣️. The students learned more about how the hospital works, asked their questions, and talked about what it means to be a doctor 💉.

The internship used a mentoring approach 👨‍🏫: experienced staff showed them around the departments, let them observe specialists at work, and let them do basic procedures under close supervision 🔬.

Besides professional experience, the guests also explored the nature and history of the Republic of Bashkortostan 🌿🏛️. Hospital union activists organized trips to Idrisovskaya Cave 🦇 and the historical memorial complex "Salavat Ere" in the UNESCO Geopark "Yangan-Tau" ⛰️🌍.

Students of Bashkir State Medical University took part in the Summer Medical Camp in Mesyagutovo from August 12–20, under the supervision of Yasser Abdelghani. 🏥✨

During the camp, students had the opportunity to observe surgical procedures, assist doctors, and learn directly from experienced medical professionals. 👨‍⚕️📚

The experience also allowed them to meet Russian colleagues, discover the local culture, and enjoy time together through sports and other activities. 🌍🤝

From Nigeria to the Bashkir outback: how a BSMU graduate became the district's most sought-after doctor

When Akhmat Oval, a #БГМУМинздраваРоссии graduate from Nigeria, first appeared at the Burzyan Central District Hospital, patients were bewildered. A year and a half later – now locals patiently queue up for his appointments, and Akhmat greets them… in Bashkir!

"I came to Russia in 2016. I enrolled in Bashkir State Medical University. I studied there for six years, followed by a two-year residency. The decision to send me abroad to study was made by my father: he had friends who studied in Russia, and one of them became a traumatologist. They said it was safe here, so my father sent me here – even though I hadn't planned to study in Russia at all."

Now the doctor works a great deal, takes shifts, plays football, goes river rafting, and is learning the Bashkir language. And soon he will bring his fiancée Sofia from Nigeria to Burzyan – she is also a future medic.
