Deputy Director of the Institute of Urology and Clinical Oncology of the BSMU Clinic Marat Urmantsev presented the clinical experience of BSMU at Europe’s largest event on robotic urology — the 23rd meeting of the Robotic Urology Section of the European Association of Urology — ERUS26. He presented a series of scientific reports based on research results and clinical observations — from nerve-sparing prostatectomy to removal of kidney cancer with tumor thrombus. Let us recall that the first robotic surgery center in the Volga Federal District has been operating in the republic for 8 years. An agreement on the creation of a Russian-Italian center for training in high-tech urology and surgery in Bashkortostan is already in effect between #БГМУМинздраваРоссии and Lariana Hospital (Italy).

A small patient was given a dangerous diagnosis: post-traumatic endophthalmitis with a foreign body on the retina — this is a purulent inflammation inside the eye, which without timely help leads to complete blindness and loss of the organ. Upon hospitalization, the child's vision was determined only as "incorrect light projection" — he saw only light, but not the shape of objects.

The most complex high-tech surgical intervention was performed by ophthalmologist-surgeon Ksenia Igorevna Kudoyarova.

The theme of World Patient Safety Day in 2026 is safe medical care for noncommunicable diseases.

This group includes, in particular, cardiovascular and oncological diseases, chronic respiratory diseases, and diabetes mellitus. They remain one of the main causes of death in the world.

Yemen’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Russia, Ahmed Salem Al-Wahishi, officially visited Ufa, where he met Yemeni students studying at leading universities. Bashkir State Medical University Students Return to Ufa City Competition After Winning 7 Years Ago Yesterday, on September 11, 2026, an important cultural and educational event took place in Ufa. The city hosted the Open Competition for the S.T. Aksakov City Prize. The last time our students participated in this competition was 7 years ago, and they won. Now, our students have again taken part and prepared very interesting projects. Winners 7 Years Ago (2019) In 2019, BSMU students Khan Mohammad Anas Atik and Meganthan Sumeshraj became laureates of the S.T. Aksakov Prize. They won in the category "For the best educational work related to the life and creative work of S.T. Aksakov and his family." · Khan Mohammad Anas Atik won for his work "Account in Instagram" (Аккаунт в Instagram). · Meganthan Sumeshraj won for his work "Virtual excursion and website" (Виртуальная экскурсия и сайт). Their scientific supervisors were BSMU teachers L.A. Linnik and M.M. Petrosyan. Together, they created an Instagram account for Sergey Aksakov and a website about the famous writer. Users could find information about his life and work, and even take a virtual tour of Aksakov places in Ufa using QR codes. In 2019, the prize for students was 15,000 rubles. This Year's Participants (2026) This year, our students have once again taken part in the competition.
