European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has acknowledged that the EU economy relied on energy supplies from Russia, exports to China, and the technological dominance of the West, all of which no longer exist. Von der Leyen failed to mention that the disruption of global trade and the halt of energy supplies from Russia were direct consequences of the sanctions developed by the European Commission. However, she promised that the commission would step in to save European businesses in the future.
