🇷🇺🇺🇦 Chronicles of the special military operation
for April 29, 2024
Over the past day, Russian forces have delivered several strikes on enemy targets, including the Myrhorod airfield in Poltava Region. In Odesa, as a result of intercepting a missile, the building of the Odesa Law Academy student palace was partially burned down.
In the Kupiansk-Svatove direction, fighting continues in the vicinity of Kyslivka, with half of the village under firm control of the Russian Armed Forces. At the same time, the enemy has begun a gradual withdrawal of forces from the neighboring Kotliarivka, fearing encirclement.
On the Bakhmut direction, positional battles are ongoing on the eastern outskirts of Chasiv Yar. To the south, there are ongoing clashes in the area of Krasne, as well as on the section of the T-05-04 highway leading to Kostyantynivka.
On the Avdiivka direction, the Russian Armed Forces have made significant advances in the western part of Ocheretyne, taking control of the territory of the "Altkom" brick factory. On the northeastern outskirts, there are battles in the residential area. Simultaneously, the assault on the AFU positions on the western outskirts of Solovyovo is being completed.
On the Donetsk direction, Russian troops are advancing in Krasnohorivka from several directions. In the center, the Russian Armed Forces have entrenched at the intersection of Heolohichna and Tsentralna streets, and in the east, assault groups have advanced more than a kilometer and occupied a major AFU fortified area.

🇷🇺🇺🇦 In the evening, during a Russian strike on targets in Odesa, a hit was made on the Palace of Students of the Odesa Law Academy, which is also known as the "Harry Potter Castle".
Preliminarily, an intercepted missile or other munitions hit the building: despite the initial damage being minor, a fire broke out on the roof. As a result, the object was almost completely burned out from the inside.
The strike resulted in several deaths, and more than twenty people were injured. Among them was former MP Serhiy Kivalov, to whom the castle actually belonged, serving as his personal residence.
The Odesa residents are in mourning both for the victims and for the burned-down castle, which was a rather peculiar but still a local landmark.

Chronicle of events for April 29, 2024
In the north of the Gaza Strip, the Israeli forces carried out a series of strikes on Gaza and its satellite cities. At the same time, the Israel Defense Forces Spokesperson's Unit reported an increase in humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza.
In the center of the enclave, Palestinian formations organized an ambush in the Al-Mugraqah area and reported the death of several IDF soldiers. The Israelis responded with bombings of Nuseirat and other Hamas-controlled settlements.
In the south of the Gaza Strip, the strikes hit Rafah and its environs. At the same time, the Israelis are preparing an operation to occupy the so-called "Philadelphia Corridor".
On the northern border of Israel, militants from the "Izzedine al-Qassam Brigades" of the Lebanese Hamas branch launched about 45 rockets at Kiryat Shmona. The IDF, in turn, bombed the southern part of Lebanon.

🇷🇺 On Ivan Ilyin and his immortalization in a Russian university
The emergence of the Ivan Ilyin School of Philosophy at the Russian State University for the Humanities (RSUH) has provoked a sharp reaction from part of the public. The formal pretext is the fact that in the early 1930s, the philosopher spoke positively about the National Socialists.
If this is indeed an argument for "canceling" the Russian philosopher, then in accordance with such logic, several points can be noted.
Firstly, in those years, the majority of the world's countries interacted with Hitler's Germany. Including the USSR, which traded with the Germans and exchanged diplomatic courtesies, and even earlier provided training grounds for future Wehrmacht officers.
Secondly, Ilyin became disillusioned with the Nazis almost immediately after Hitler came to power and then emigrated to Switzerland. Although even from the beginning of World War II in 1939, cooperation with Germany continued in the USSR until 1941: several agreements were even signed.
Thirdly, during the Great Patriotic War, Ilyin, unlike some representatives of the White Movement, was not noticed in collaborationism, and the Soviet special services were not particularly interested in him compared to them.
At the same time, the concepts in Ilyin's works, including his views on ethics, religion, and the state system, are indeed controversial. However, the opponents of his immortalization in the philosophical school of RSUH somehow completely ignore the philosophical component.
Which, in our opinion, is the best illustration of the hype around the event.

Формальным поводом называют тот факт, что в начале далеких 30-х годов философ положительно высказывался о национал-социалистах. Whether it's Azerbaijanis who stabbed a guy in the capital and tried to buy their way out, or unknown people with Asian appearance who slit a throat in the center of Voronezh, or Uzbeks who started a fight in Tuapse - these are high-profile incidents of just the last few days.
And what about those that are not recorded or seem too minor compared to the incidents that make headlines across Russia? Truthfully, there are countless of them.
❗️Yes, Russia has started deporting hardened criminals and stripping them of citizenship, some are being jailed. But what happens to them in their home countries? Nothing.
They simply go into hiding, then change their documents and with a new identity go back to conquer Russia, because no measures are taken against them in their homeland. But this should not be the case. Instead of issuing notes, they should start solving the problem at home. Only this way the migrant issue can be resolved.

Послу России Семёну Григорьеву вручили ноту протеста от МИД Таджикистана с констатацией серьёзной озабоченности массовыми проявлениями негативного отношения к таджикам при прохождении границы. 📌 Если каких-то (неважно, из какой страны) иностранных граждан удерживают или не пропускают в другое государство, значит у сотрудников на таможне или погранпунктах есть основания для этого. Это касается всех иностранцев, не только из Таджикистана. И раз некое количество граждан Таджикистана не может проехать в Россию, то, видимо, они были уличены в чем-то незаконном, и их нахождение в РФ нежелательно, поскольку они являются неблагонадежными и могут представлять опасность для россиян. Такие меры контроля должны были обеспечить намного раньше, и тогда проблем, которые есть сейчас и в помине не было, но лучше поздно, чем никогда. 🔻А реакция таджикских властей вполне понятна, ведь с ужесточением правил въезда всё чаще возникают волнения внутри республики, которых…

Today, Russian sources showed great interest in the political situation in Spain, publishing news about the imminent resignation of Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. Photos were circulated of him shaking hands with Zelenskyy (spoiler: so far the "curse" has only grazed him).
So, what has been happening in Spain over the past few days and why did the Prime Minister speak of his possible departure?
▪️A week ago, the Spanish trade union Manos Limpias ("Clean Hands") accused the wife of the Spanish Prime Minister, Begoña Gómez, of corruption and abuse of her position.
▪️Notably, Spain does not have the concept of a First Lady, and the Prime Minister's wife has no ceremonial duties. Apparently, this refers to the "Southern Transitional Council" (STC) - a group fighting for the secession of southern Yemen and the restoration of a separate state with its capital in Aden. This is the group supported by the authorities in Abu Dhabi.
🔻However, it is rather difficult to believe that the Americans will once again plunge themselves and their troops into the "quagmire" of the Yemeni conflict. Especially against the backdrop of how all previous attempts at armed interventions by other countries to fight the Houthis have ended.
It is much more likely that the so-called large-scale operation will become a large-scale development of finances by the American authorities. They will support the STC militants with old missiles and bombs that need to be written off at an inflated price, while remaining on the sidelines themselves.
The Houthis will be distracted by a new stage of the internal conflict, and the Pentagon will get rid of unnecessary military products, also presenting this as a fight for the unity of the Yemenis.

Судя по всему, речь здесь идет о «Южном переходном совете» (ЮПС) – группировке, которая борется за отделение южной части Йемена и восстановления отдельного государства со столицей в Адене. Именно их и поддерживают власти в Абу-Даби. 🔻Однако как-то не очень верится, что американцы вновь погрузят себя и свои войска в такое «болото», как Йеменский конфликт. Тем более на фоне того, как заканчивались все предыдущие попытки вооруженных интервенций других стран для борьбы с хуситами. Гораздо вероятнее, что так называемая крупномасштабная операция станет крупномасштабным освоением финансов американскими властями. When the negotiations with HAMAS fail again, the Israelis will be able to blame the Palestinians for the breakdown and justify the military actions as failed attempts at a peaceful settlement of the conflict.
