🚍 Dandii is here — Addis Ababa's transit, finally on one map. Back in 2018, I kept running into the same problem: there was no single place to answer a simple question — "Which route actually gets me there, and what does it cost?" Anbessa, Sheger, the minibus associations, the LRT — all real, all moving thousands of people every day, but scattered across memory, word of mouth, and guesswork. I told myself I'd build the app for it one day. Today, that day arrived. Dandii lets you: 🔎 Search any route across every Addis operator 🗺️ See the trip on the map, stop by stop 💵 Check the fare and the schedule ⭐ Save the routes you ride every day ✍️ Report a fare when it changes — riders keep the data honest, together None of this would exist without open data. Dandii is built on the official Addis Ababa GTFS produced by World Resources Institute (WRI) Africa — the dataset that maps this whole network. I was part of the technical team that processed and analyzed the data behind that GTFS, so this launch is a way of giving back to the public. 🙏 A huge thank-you to WRI Africa for building — and keeping up to date — the transit data that makes a tool like this possible.
