Colossians 3:2 BIBLE READING : 1 TIMOTHY 4:7-8 7 But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness. 8 For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. MESSAGE: Just as physical fitness requires consistent effort, spiritual growth depends on cultivating godly habits. Today's Bible reading compares physical training to spiritual training, which holds eternal value. As a child of God, you must identify and cultivate habits that will make you grow spiritually. These habits include consistent prayer, Bible study, and worship, and they are very important for any child of God to build a good foundation in God. Such habits will strengthen your faith and equip you to face life's challenges without wavering. Therefore, treat your spiritual life like a gym. Practise godly habits so you can bild godly character and grow your spiritual muscles. My dear child, godly habits can sometimes be difficult to sustain when you are around people who do not believe in them. Therefore, you must stay connected to people who share the same mindset as you in building godly habits. As the adage says, "Show me your friend, and I will tell you who you are." KEY POINT: Be intentional in building godly habits. TOPIC: FLEE LUSTS MEMORISE But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. - (1 Timothy 6:11) BIBLE READING: GENESIS 39:7-12 (KJV) 7 And it came to pass after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me. 8 But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand; 9 There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? 10 And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her. 11 And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into the house to do his business; and there was none of the men of the house there within. 12 And she caught him by his garment, saying, Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out. MESSAGE The Bible says that you should resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Elijah is one character in the Bible who really exemplified this principle of resisting the devil. He stood against everyone who opposed God, including the king and all the prophets of Baal. However, when a woman, Jezebel, decided to go after him, he did not stand to resist her; rather, he fled. When the devil decides to tempt you with a member of the opposite sex, don't stand and fight; flee! In 2 Timothy 2:22, the Bible says, "Flee youthful lusts." Child of God, when it comes to sexual temptation, don't fight it; instead, run! I always warn my male children that if the devil comes against them, they should tell him to get lost in Jesus' name. However, if a lady approaches them smiling seductively, they are the ones who should run. You must flee from lust, because you cannot win that battle by standing; you can only win it by fleeing. If you are a man and you find yourself being seduced by a lady, you must flee. It does not matter how anointed you are; run fast! The anointing does not turn the body to stone. Even though Samson was anointed and once single-handedly killed a thousand soldiers, he was overpowered by a woman, and this led to his untimely death. To the ladies, when a man approaches you with words like, 'You look more radiant than the sun. Your smile is brighter than the brightness of a million stars put together', don't be carried away by his flattery. He may be calling you sunshine, but when he finishes with you, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between sunshine and sunset. The Bible says that a flatterer sets a net for his or her neighbour's feet (Proverbs 29:5). My daughter, flee! Even at my age, I am still running from every appearance of evil. This is because the closer you get to the finishing point of a race, the more careful you must be. The devil doesn't relent in his schemes to bring people down because they are old; instead, he wants to put an end to all the great work God has done through them and tarnish their legacies. Beloved, do not toy with sin; flee all forms of lust! God did not tell you that His grace will be sufficient for you when it comes to lust, He asked you to flee! Proverbs 21:20 *BIBLE READING : PROVERBS 6:6-8* 6 Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: 7 Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, 8 Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest. *MESSAGE:* Saving money may not seem important to Some young people, but the truth is that there is wisdom in storing up resources for the future. It is not only adults who need financial discipline. You should start learning to save up portions of whatever money you receive because you will soon become an adult. Financial discipline is an essential life skill and a way to honour God with your resources. Someone once said, "Saving Saves" and I believe it does, as it helps to Sort out financial emergencies. A Yoruba adage says, "Don't eat with your ten fingers." This implies that you shouldn't use all your resources at once, but you should always Save some for the future. This principle is demonstrated in the lives of the ants as seen in today's Bible reading. I encourage you to take a cue from them, as they spend time planning for their future. They save food in the summer, which will become their saving grace in winter. My dear child, you can cultivate a savings culture by setting savings goals, which can be daily, weekly, monthly, or as often as you receive money. Also, create a budget to help you allocate your allowances or earnings in the right proportions for your needs. This will help you reduce reckless spending and help you to remain financially disciplined. TOPIC: YOUR DIVINE IDENTITY MEMORISE Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD. - (Isaiah 52:11) BIBLE READING: 1 PETER 2:9-11 (KJV) 9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; 10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. 11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; MESSAGE There was a story of an eagle that a mother hen hatched. For years, the eagle behaved like a chicken scratching for worms and never soaring as an eagle should. That continued until one day, the eagle saw another eagle flying in the sky and was intrigued by the way it spread its wings and soared in the sky. Somehow, the eagle felt it could also do the same thing; so it opened up its wings and began to fly. That was when the eagle realised that it was not a chicken, but an eagle that was born to soar. Beloved, if you don't recognise your identity in Christ, you will remain a slave to the things Jesus went to the cross to deliver you from. You will struggle for worms with other chickens when you should be soaring high in the sky and diving to get your meals without stress. Knowing your divine identity will empower you to overcome whatever struggles you face, as you will understand that Jesus has paid the price for you to be free. You cannot know who you are in God if you don't spend time in His word. Your divine identity can only be revealed to you through God's word. The more you spend time reading and studying God's word, the more His light will shine upon your heart to show you who you are in Him. Psalm 119:130 says that the entrance of God's word gives light and understanding to the simple. It doesn't matter your background or status; once you come to Christ, you have become royalty. Revelation 1:6 says that Jesus has made us kings and priests unto God and His Father. Today's Bible reading also reveals that if you are a child of God, you are royalty. Beloved, you are God's chosen vessel and an ambassador for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20). This means that there are things you cannot do, and one of them is to live in sin. Today's memory verse says that we should keep ourselves clean because we bear the vessels of the Lord. If you bear the vessel of the Lord, no unclean thing should be found in you. You must steer clear of anything that represents sin and unrighteousness. Princes should not be found naked in public. Sin makes people naked, and your divine identity as a royal priesthood forbids this. REFLECTION Do you know and walk in your divine identity? AUTHOR: Pastor E. A. Leviticus 18:22 *BIBLE READING: ROMANS 1:26-27* 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. *MESSAGE:* In today's memory verse, God clearly outlined His design for sexual relationships among humans and warned the Israelites against doing such. In today's world, however, satan has clouded the minds of many young people to think that it is normal to become romantically involved with someone of the same sex. My dear child, don't be deceived by all the lies being told by the devil and his agents who are practicing this abominable act. One of the lies they spread is that a fellow who is romantically attracted to a member of the same sex is a member of the opposite sex trapped in the wrong body. This is a lie because God does not make mistakes. He is a perfect God, and everything He made was good, including you (Genesis 1:31). The devil is very strategic in his ways because he knows that his time will soon come to an end. Please, do not fall for his tricks. Flee from people who do not see anything wrong in homosexuality, and if you are already practicing it, I want to tell you that you can be set free. First, you need to surrender totally to Jesus Christ, then you must seek deliverance from the spirit of homosexuality. Furthermore, you should enrol with a trusted spiritual leader who can disciple you. I pray that you will not come under satan's bondage of homosexuality, in Jesus name. *KEY POINT:* Homosexuality isn't God's design; it is an abomination before Him. *BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:* Luke 4:1-32 Joshua 11-13 *HYMN : 67- HO, MY COMRADES* 1 Ho, my comrades! see the signal Waving in the sky! One hour later, a doctor said, "This boy is still breathing. Let us do something, even if all we have to do is stitch him up." So, they took him into the theatre, removed the bullet, stitched him up, and waited for him to die. To the glory of God, that child has now become an adult, and he is still alive today! Beloved, make it a duty to pray for other people's children. Let God use you to save someone's child through prayer. Rather than complain about the bad character of some of the children around you, get on your knees and pray for them to be well-behaved and God fearing.
