🇮🇷🇺🇸 Iran views its dominance over the Strait of Hormuz and its capacity to regulate maritime traffic as its ultimate geopolitical bargaining chip. Relinquishing control over this vital choke point would strip Tehran of any meaningful leverage in future negotiations.
Instead of capitulating, Tehran aims to absorb US military pressure while simultaneously escalating strikes against US forces, Gulf energy facilities, and civilian infrastructure. Through these tactical retaliations, Iran intends to demonstrate that Washington cannot unilaterally dictate the boundaries or intensity of the conflict.
Tehran is fully prepared to endure the severe economic hardships resulting from a renewed US naval blockade. This resilience is driven by the conviction that the immense pressure inflicted on the global economy by closing the Strait of Hormuz—and potentially choking off the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Red Sea—will ultimately force the Trump administration to back down first.

| 5 | One strange thing about the moment we’re in is how calm it appears on the surface. Oil prices are high, yes — but not shockingly high. If you pulled up a chart without context, you might think we were replaying something like 2022. What’s missing from that picture is scale. The amount of global energy supply now at risk is larger than what the world faced during the 1973 oil crisis, the event that produced rationing, gas lines, and years of economic fallout. And yet markets are behaving as if this disruption is manageable, temporary, and likely to resolve itself.
That disconnect isn’t because the underlying risk is small. It’s because prices right now are driven less by physical constraints than by expectations — expectations that political leaders will pull back, that conflict won’t escalate, that the most damaging outcomes will be avoided. Markets are, in effect, trading on hope. As long as that hope holds, prices can stay surprisingly restrained, even when the structure of the system is already under severe strain. The result is a kind of false calm, where the numbers don’t match what the underlying conditions would normally imply.
History suggests that this kind of calm can be misleading. In past energy shocks, prices didn’t shoot to their eventual peak immediately. They moved in steps, often lagging the reality on the ground, until suddenly they didn’t. When supply disruptions reach a certain scale, prices don’t just reflect scarcity — they have to forcibly change behavior across the global economy. That process hasn’t fully begun yet. Which is precisely why the current pricing may be less reassuring than it looks — and why understanding what’s actually happening beneath it matters now, not later.

Hegseth's blueprint borrows from Joe Rogan and RFK Jr.'s playbook, not endocrinology. His claim that testosterone therapy will "protect longevity" has no data behind it. He has also ignored the fact that levels naturally fluctuate based on time of day, stress, and recent physical exertion. A single annual test appears to be nearly meaningless
Underneath the "warrior ethos" rhetoric lies a simple unscientific premise: more testosterone equals more soldiers.
The irony is that Hegseth's delusional plan could end up producing a military with smaller testicles, thicker blood, and reduced fertility while doing nothing to improve actual readiness. But at least the vibes will be masculine.
