🇮🇷🇺🇸 Iran views its dominance over the Strait of Hormuz and its capacity to regulate maritime traffic as its ultimate geopolitical bargaining chip. Relinquishing control over this vital choke point would strip Tehran of any meaningful leverage in future negotiations. Instead of capitulating, Tehran aims to absorb US military pressure while simultaneously escalating strikes against US forces, Gulf energy facilities, and civilian infrastructure. Through these tactical retaliations, Iran intends to demonstrate that Washington cannot unilaterally dictate the boundaries or intensity of the conflict. Tehran is fully prepared to endure the severe economic hardships resulting from a renewed US naval blockade. This resilience is driven by the conviction that the immense pressure inflicted on the global economy by closing the Strait of Hormuz—and potentially choking off the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Red Sea—will ultimately force the Trump administration to back down first. @SimurghRes

This has become a test of wills. For one country, it’s their very existence as a sovereign country at stake. For the other, it’s just another foreign adventure in advancing a segment of their global hegemony. It should be obvious which one would win a protracted war of attrition.

🇮🇷❌🇺🇸🇯🇴 — Iran has carried out four attacks against U.S. forces in Jordan in five days, according to NYT. ➡️ The first strike targeted a residential facility at King Faisal Air Base, injuring up to five U.S. troops. ➡️ The second hit an eastern Jordanian base used by U.S. Black Hawk helicopters, damaging a significant number of them. Two days later, Iranian missiles struck Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Azraq, injuring around 20 U.S. troops who rushed to take shelter in bunkers. ➡️ A follow-up attack on Friday at the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base killed two U.S. service members, left one missing, and injured four others.

One strange thing about the moment we’re in is how calm it appears on the surface. Oil prices are high, yes — but not shockingly high. If you pulled up a chart without context, you might think we were replaying something like 2022. What’s missing from that picture is scale. The amount of global energy supply now at risk is larger than what the world faced during the 1973 oil crisis, the event that produced rationing, gas lines, and years of economic fallout. And yet markets are behaving as if this disruption is manageable, temporary, and likely to resolve itself.  That disconnect isn’t because the underlying risk is small. It’s because prices right now are driven less by physical constraints than by expectations — expectations that political leaders will pull back, that conflict won’t escalate, that the most damaging outcomes will be avoided. Markets are, in effect, trading on hope. As long as that hope holds, prices can stay surprisingly restrained, even when the structure of the system is already under severe strain. The result is a kind of false calm, where the numbers don’t match what the underlying conditions would normally imply.  History suggests that this kind of calm can be misleading. In past energy shocks, prices didn’t shoot to their eventual peak immediately. They moved in steps, often lagging the reality on the ground, until suddenly they didn’t. When supply disruptions reach a certain scale, prices don’t just reflect scarcity — they have to forcibly change behavior across the global economy. That process hasn’t fully begun yet. Which is precisely why the current pricing may be less reassuring than it looks — and why understanding what’s actually happening beneath it matters now, not later.  Read more: The Energy Crisis Is Worse Than You Think  Why This Could Be Worse Than the 1973 Oil Crisis  https://open.substack.com/pub/libertylens1/p/the-energy-crisis-is-worse-than-you?utm_campaign=post-expanded-share&utm_medium=web

🪖💉 What's behind the Pentagon's plot to chemically optimize soldiers? Pentagon big talker Pete Hegseth wants to test every US service member over 30 for testosterone and offer voluntary hormone therapy to those deemed deficient, Reuters reports. Hegseth claims the goal is to boost combat effectiveness, yet the medical community's response ranges from puzzlement to alarm 🌏 Doctors recommend treatment only for those with confirmed deficiency and symptoms 🌏 There is no solid evidence that screening all troops for low testosterone would optimize combat performance 🌏Treating asymptomatic troops risks infertility, blood thickening, heart strain, and testicular atrophy 🌏When you introduce external testosterone, the body's natural production shuts down and fertility doesn't always bounce back Hegseth's blueprint borrows from Joe Rogan and RFK Jr.'s playbook, not endocrinology. His claim that testosterone therapy will "protect longevity" has no data behind it. He has also ignored the fact that levels naturally fluctuate based on time of day, stress, and recent physical exertion. A single annual test appears to be nearly meaningless Underneath the "warrior ethos" rhetoric lies a simple unscientific premise: more testosterone equals more soldiers. The irony is that Hegseth's delusional plan could end up producing a military with smaller testicles, thicker blood, and reduced fertility while doing nothing to improve actual readiness. But at least the vibes will be masculine. 👍Boost us | Chat | @geopolitics_prime

— 🇺🇸/🇮🇷 NEW: The Wall Street Journal, citing U.S. officials: Iran has developed methods to overcome U.S. missile defense systems by using missiles that fly at extremely high speeds and are capable of maneuvering during the final stage of their trajectory before impact. There is concern about the noticeable improvement in the accuracy of Iranian strikes. @interbellumnews

The “concern” should have been there before they started this war. They knew Iran had hypersonic missiles yet now they’re acting surprised?

🇮🇶 Iraq has signed 48 agreements and partnership deals with US companies during Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi's visit to Washington, marking one of the largest economic cooperation packages between the two countries in recent years. Several deals also support the development of an Iraq–Syria crude oil pipeline aimed at creating alternative export routes beyond the Strait of Hormuz. ⚪️ @Alsaa_plus_EN

🇮🇷❌🇺🇸 — Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader, said: The violation of the memorandum of understanding has once again proven that the signature of the President of the United States holds no value or credibility, and that the Iranian people have unforgettable lessons for the American enemy. Today, the ‘Great Satan’ has once again revealed its true face without a mask, making this dark experience of crimes and broken promises new and conclusive evidence of the United States’ falsehood, irrationality, untrustworthiness, and malice. Now, as the American enemy seeks to ignite war and bear even greater costs and further loss of reputation, it should know that the dear Iranian people and the Axis of Resistance have unforgettable lessons in store for it. The heroism of the fighters of Islam and the courage of the people of the southern regions in recent days have demonstrated examples of those lessons. ⚪️ @Alsaa_plus_EN

—❗️🇺🇸/🇮🇷 Iranian military source: ‘We won’t wait any longer for the enemy to increase strikes against our vital infrastructure. We have begun to implemented a phased plan, which will end with the complete destruction of all regional energy and water-purification infrastructure, if the U.S. aggression against Iran does not immediately stop. As part of the first stage of this plan, all powerplants and water desalination plants in Kuwait are now part of our target bank.’ @Middle_East_Spectator

If Iran follows through with this threat, expect a horrendous refugee crisis as people flee the Gulf Arab states en masse for lack of drinking water. Thanks Donald Trump for creating a huge humanitarian crisis by starting an unwinnable war against the 3,000 year old civilization of Persia/Iran. You are an utter fool and will go down in history as such.

—❗️🇮🇷 🇮🇷 IRGC Statement: ‘The criminal U.S. regime, once again, in the midst of negotiations and the illusion of Iran's weakening, officially resumed the war that it had never truly ended. After several days of fighting against our Armed Forces and receiving crushing responses to Trump’s aggressions, and realizing that the Iranian Armed Forces had become much stronger than the first day of the war, instead of honorably accepting defeat and admitting to his repeated miscalculations, he took a new approach by fleeing the battlefield and attempted to hide his defeat in the military confrontation by committing war crimes. The U.S. tried to maintain its position by carrying out destructive attacks on hospitals, bridges, railways, airports, ports, telecommunications centers, and so on, killing civilians, instead of fighting on the battlefield like real men. Since there is no international institution to prevent these barbarities of the U.S. military, there is no other way than to implement the Quranic command: ‘So whoever attacks you, attack him in the same way as he attacked you’ (Holy Quran 2:194) Therefore, it is appropriate for the countries hosting the aggressor U.S. military, who have made their territory available to the U.S. to attack Iran, to be prepared to receive a corresponding response and activate their civil defense units to protect the lives of citizens and keep them away from possible targets. However, in order to give the American enemy a chance to change their cowardly approach, last night we decided to choose military targets for the time being.‘ @Middle_East_Spectator
