Normal Weather:
If a standard fault cuts your power for more than 12 hours, they must pay a domestic customer £95, plus £45 for every additional 12 hours you are left in the dark.
Severe Weather:
In a massive storm, they are allowed 48 hours to fix it. If it takes longer, they must pay £85, plus £45 for every 6 hours thereafter.

Several massive utility companies physically run the grids and supply power in both countries simultaneously.
National Grid:
Despite being headquartered in London and running the high-voltage electricity transmission network for England and Wales, National Grid is also one of the largest utilities in the US. It operates the electricity and natural gas networks for millions of customers across New York and Massachusetts.
Iberdrola:
This Spanish multinational energy giant is a dominant player in both countries. In the UK, it owns ScottishPower (a major energy supplier and network operator), and in the US, it owns Avangrid (which operates utilities in New York, Maine, and Connecticut).
2. US Companies Owning UK Infrastructure

Article 7(3) of the UK GDPR: The right to withdraw consent at any time.
Article 21 of the UK GDPR: The right to object to the processing of my personal data.
I mandate that my records be updated immediately to reflect a comprehensive National Data Opt-out, preventing my confidential patient information from being shared for external planning, research, or third-party outreach. I also expressly request to be opted out of all national screening registers that result in third-party test kits and invitations being dispatched to my address.
Please take this letter as formal notice: should I receive any further invitations for data collection, biometrics, or DNA testing, or should I discover that my data has been shared without my explicit consent following this instruction, I will commence legal proceedings against the surgery for data sharing without consent. I will also escalate the breach directly to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
I expect written confirmation within 14 days that my medical records have been updated to reflect the removal of my data from these sharing lists.
