🛡Update: VIP Fee Tier Protection & Unified Fee Coming Soon
Deribit is extending its temporary adjustment to the VIP tier evaluation framework, ahead of the launch of the new Starbase matching engine and the upcoming consolidation of Coinbase International Exchange (INTX) with Deribit.
Key Adjustments for June 2026
• Downgrade Protection: The evaluation will bypass downgrade conditions for accounts currently classified as VIP 2 through VIP 6. Traders whose May volume falls below their current tier threshold will retain their existing fee status.
• VIP Tier 1: As an equity-based tier, VIP 1 remains subject to standard equity eligibility requirements.
• Standard Upgrades: The automated upgrade pathway remains active. Any account meeting the criteria for a higher volume threshold will be upgraded according to standard logic.
🚀Coming Soon: Fee Unification & Starbase
As we prepare to merge the INTX linear perpetuals with Deribit’s options and futures suite we will harmonize the fees structure of the combined platform.
Key Integration Milestones
• NOW: Starbase Testnet (UAT) is live.
• 13 July 2026: Access for market data and FIX drop copy in Production.
• 20 July 2026: Starbase Full Production release.
• 17 August 2026: INTX Cutover. All OI and collateral migrate to Deribit, All balances, positions, and trading activity will reside exclusively on Deribit.

In light of the latest regulatory actions concerning HTX, deposits from HTX or withdrawals to HTX-linked addresses may trigger additional sanctions screening alerts, AML, compliance, or risk-control checks on Deribit.

| 3 |  Copper ClearLoop now available on Deribit FZE
We are pleased to share that Copper ClearLoop is now available on Deribit FZE.
In addition to the existing Copper ClearLoop custody option offered via our DRB Panama Inc. entity, eligible clients can now also access Copper ClearLoop custody and off-exchange settlement through Deribit FZE (Dubai).
This gives you more flexibility in how you structure your Deribit relationship and manage counterparty and operational risk.

What we are doing
We are performing planned maintenance on part of our retail infrastructure to prepare for the upcoming Starbase go-live. This work will be completed in a controlled, phased manner during the maintenance window, with only a subset of our retail nodes undergoing maintenance at any given time.
Impact
• At any time, 1 of 5 retail nodes will be offline for maintenance.
• Up to 1 in 5 retail customers may experience a brief websocket disconnect when their connection happens to be on the node undergoing maintenance.
• If a customer reconnects and is assigned to the second node that is later maintained, they may experience a second brief disconnect during the window.
• These disconnects, if they occur, will be limited to the period between 9:00 and 10:00 UTC.
• We do not expect any other impact on the platform.

As part of our ongoing platform improvements, we have a few minor breaking changes:
🔹Editing the mmp flag on an existing order is no longer supported.
🔹Attempting to edit a quote-originated order via private/edit now returns order_not_found Previously this would cancel the entire quote.
🔹 With self-match prevention in reject taker mode, the taker order may now be cancelled instead of rejected. In both cases the taker does not enter the book and the maker order remains resting.

In order to align our margin requirements with prevailing market volatility and to ensure a fair and accurate assessment of client risk, we will adjust the price ranges used in our risk methodology downward. This change will thus lower the margin required for the same portfolio.

BTC: Price Range variable will decrease from 16% to 14%

What to expect:
• Cross-connected clients relying on a single connection may experience a brief interruption of up to 90 seconds.
• Clients with backup connectivity and AWS connected clients are not expected to experience any disruption. Trading will remain open throughout.

• Equinix LD4 Cross-Connect Equalization: Starting June 2026, Deribit and Equinix will equalize all cross-connects in the LD4 facility. Connections will terminate directly at Deribit's edge switches, eliminating intermediate hops and improving latency. No action is required on the client side. Notifications regarding specific maintenance windows will be provided in advance.

• Instrument Creation Channel: New subscription channel instrument.creation.<kind>.<currency> notifies instantly when a new instrument is listed.
• Main Account Trade Queries: Main accounts can now query private/get_user_trades_by_* to retrieve subaccount trade data.
