As Bybit prepares for the expected launch of TradFi Options in September 2026, please note that certain corporate actions may result in adjustments to an option's strike price and, consequently, changes to its symbol name.
Corporate Actions — TradFi Options
* Forward stock split (M:1): Strike price divided by M, quantity multiplied by M, and average price divided by M.
* Reverse stock split (1:N): Strike price multiplied by N, quantity divided by N, and average price multiplied by N. Reverse splits may result in fractional option positions, which will be handled according to the applicable algorithm and settled at Mark_frozen.
* Special dividend (D ≥ threshold): TradFi Perpetuals and Options will jointly calculate an adjustment ratio and follow the corresponding stock split adjustment process.
* Regular quarterly dividends: No adjustment is required, as these are already reflected in the Forward's discrete dividend schedule and therefore incorporated into market pricing.
Important: Symbol Name Changes
Following certain corporate actions, an instrument's symbol (symbol name) may change. However, its symbolId will remain unchanged.
You can retrieve both symbolId and symbol from the following OpenAPI endpoint: https://bybit-exchange.github.io/docs/v5/market/instrument
To ensure your systems continue to query and place orders using the correct instrument, please map instruments using the unchanged symbolId and retrieve the latest corresponding symbol when necessary.

There are two upcoming API updates for the Instrument Info endpoints.
### Change 1 — displayName Supports Unicode Characters, Production: 26 Aug 2026
The displayName response field will support Unicode characters, including Chinese characters.
Clients should ensure that their systems properly support UTF-8/Unicode when parsing, processing, or storing the displayName field.
### Change 2 — New PendingOpen Status, Production: 1 Sep 2026
A new instrument status, PendingOpen, will be introduced.
Previously, you may occasionally have received symbols with "status=Trading" while the contract was not yet fully ready for order placement. During this period, orders could be temporarily rejected.
With this update, such contracts will return "status=PendingOpen" when querying Instrument Info without specifying the "status" parameter. The status will automatically change to Trading once the contract is fully ready, after which you can start trading it.
Please make sure your system can properly recognize and handle the new PendingOpen status. This change applies to Linear and Inverse categories.

1. A new `categories` field will be added to the API response.

2. A new `equity` field will be added under each category to represent the total equity of that category.
3. The `equity` field under each category represents the total equity of all assets belonging to that category, while `coinDetail` provides the detailed breakdown by coin.
