Instagram and Facebook under EU investigation for causing child addiction and harm The probe announced will assess whether Meta has breached rules under the EU’s Digital Services Act, noting that Facebook and Instagram’s UI and algorithms may cause behavioural addictions in children and create "rabbit-hole effects." The EU is concerned that Meta isn’t doing enough to prevent minors from accessing inappropriate content and that its age-verification tools may not be effective. It will additionally assess whether Meta’s content recommendation systems and default privacy settings provide enough privacy, safety, and security for minors. Apple’s new accessibility features let you control an iPhone or iPad with your eyes along with more features Apple announced new accessibility features coming later this year, including Eye Tracking, a way for users with physical disabilities to control iPad or iPhone with their eyes. Additionally, Music Haptics will offer a new way for users who are deaf or hard of hearing to experience music using the Taptic Engine in iPhone. Vocal Shortcuts will allow users to perform tasks by making a custom sound; Vehicle Motion Cues can help reduce motion sickness when using iPhone or iPad in a moving vehicle; and more accessibility features will come to visionOS.

Google Search adds ‘Web’ filter that only shows links as AI answers can’t be disabled Google’s AI-powered Search experience is now rolling out to everyone. However, with all of these new layers on top of the “10 blue links,” Google is making it possible to go back to something simpler with a new “Web” filter in Search. AI Overviews will appear on many searches, especially if you ask a question. This new "Web" filter will work like the images, videos, and various other Search filters, but the goal will be to show only links to the web. Imagen 3 Imagen 3 is positioned as Google’s “highest-quality” text-to-image model and offers a few improvements over the Imagen 2 model we’ve seen in Gemini and Bard. Imagen 3 is said to bring a higher level of detail in images without as many visual artifacts and impurities in generated images.
