A $124 whipsaw — and a green day. The sell paid two targets before Japan's rate move reversed the entire board. Now gold is parked dead-center on its trend filter, and tonight's weekly close decides which regime owns next week.
Reading it:
What happened: yesterday's seller zone worked — profits banked at 4,279 and 4,260 (the low: 4,257) — and then the Bank of Japan's window detonated a $124 rally through every zone on the chart, topping at 4,381. Banking profits at each station and trading smaller around central-bank windows turned the wildest day of the month into a winner. Why it matters: the recovery has parked gold exactly on its combined major trend filter (~4,351), between two clean triggers. Bond yields above 5% scream 'down'; a weak dollar and $104 oil hold the floor. Even the professional models flip-flopped twice this week — nobody has an edge in the middle. The catch: it's Friday, and the weekly close itself may be the deciding candle. The plan: trade the triggers only. If gold breaks and HOLDS above 4,366, buy the pullback to 4,360 – 4,366 — targets 4,381, then 4,400. If it breaks below 4,335, sell the pullback to 4,335 – 4,341 — targets 4,325, then 4,307. No trades between the triggers, profits banked quickly, and everything flat before the weekend. Monday's plan opens with the verdict in hand.
