Prigozhin’s mutiny 26.06.23 On June 23, 2023, the head of the Wagner mercenaries Yevgeny Prigozhin accused Russia’s military leadership of striking his mercenary camps and announced a “march of justice.” The next day, Wagner forces occupied Rostov-on-Don and began moving toward Moscow. The column consisted of roughly 5,000–8,000 mercenaries, supported by dozens of armored vehicles, including tanks and APCs, as well as logistics vehicles and other equipment. The convoy advanced to within roughly 200 km of the Russian capital, facing almost no resistance.
