No ships on Navy Day.
For the second year running, Russia’s big fleet parade in St. Petersburg was quietly shelved.
Instead, Putin popped by the Main Admiralty, took video calls from his fleet commanders (safely on land), handed out medals for the war in Ukraine, and delivered the usual lines about “striking blows” and the mighty nuclear triad.

This is not Putin’s war; it’s the peoples war 26.07.26 Russian pseudo intellectual and quack philosopher Alexander Dugin claimed that Russia needs a mobilization and Putin must make a decision on it. A large-scale mobilization campaign in Russia in the fall of 2026 is yet to be announced. The likelihood is that it will be in late September or October. The Kremlin will not announce this in advance so as not to trigger a mass exodus and a decline in loyalty on the eve of parliamentary elections. The calendar follows a political logic. Before elections, it is not in the Kremlin‘s interest to stir up widespread anxiety. After the vote, the political cost drops sharply. September becomes the likely month of administrative preparations, and October - an apt time for mobilization. Russia is facing an increasingly severe shortage of manpower. Regions are increasing payments to contract soldiers and expanding recruitment among debtors, prisoners, the unemployed, foreigners, and socially vulnerable groups.

57-year-old Alexey Korshenko was found dead on the balcony of his apartment. According to Russian authorities, he hanged himself. Korshenko was Deputy Director General at Avia Group, the company that manages business aviation terminals at Sheremetyevo and Pulkovo airports. Avia Group also operates a helipad on Valaam Island, frequently used by Putin. According to Russian Telegram channels, Prigozhin's plane was serviced at Avia Group's terminal and departed for his fatal flight from there in August 2023. Over the past four years, more than two dozen top executives of major Russian companies- including Gazprom, Novatek, and Lukoil - have died under suspicious or unexplained circumstances.

Putin’s war goes wrong 26.07.18 Wildberries logistics centers in Russia's Moscow region (Elektrostal) and Tambov region (Kotovsk) overnight, igniting major fires at the e-commerce giant's facilities. A cloud of smoke hung over Moscow from the attack. Russian officials report seven workers killed and at least 24 injured at the Kotovsk site, with additional injuries in the Moscow region. Emergency services are responding to ongoing fires. Wildberries, Russia's largest online retailer, confirmed attacks on both sites and staff evacuations. The strikes are part of a broader wave of Ukrainian drone operations targeting Russian infrastructure.

Putin’s war of aggression hits Russians hard Russia's gasoline output falls to less than 50% of demand, following Ukrainian strikes on refineries and other infrastructure, The attacks on oil refineries have already evolved from a passing problem into a systemic vulnerability and put at risk the domestic infrastructure essential to the day-to-day functioning of the Russian state. The future of Russia's war economy will depend primarily on the balance between the pace of Ukrainian strikes, the effectiveness of Russian air defenses, and the ability of repair crews to restore refinery operations. If that balance continues to shift against Russia, the fuel crisis could create conditions in which the Russian authorities would want to end the war.

Russia has temporarily halted shipping through the Don-Azov Channel and Kerch Strait after Ukraine attacked 13 Russian vessels in the Sea of Azov.
Since roughly 25% of Russia's wheat exports use this route, traders fear disruptions to global grain supplies, causing wheat prices to jump about 4%. It's unclear how long the shipping halt will last. Source: Reuters

Kremlin:
On one side, there is Russia. On the other side, there is Ukraine, together with a number of European countries and the United States, supplying Ukraine with millions of tons of weapons. It is no longer an operation. It is a full-scale war. Source: Die Weltwoche

Kremlin:
Zelensky came to power and promised his people that he would end the war. That was his original promise. And he can still end the war by making the very responsible decision to withdraw his troops from Donbas—from the regions that have now become part of Russia—and by recognizing the situation that has already become de facto as de jure. The next day, the war would be over. Source: Die Weltwoche

Kremlin:
If anything threatens the existence of the Russian state, nuclear weapons will be used. Otherwise, they will not. Everything else is pure speculation. Source: Die Weltwoche

Kremlin:
The good, warm, and very cultured Europe still exists. But it is under enormous pressure from a new generation of politicians. Therefore, we sincerely wish Europeans to have a new generation of wiser politicians—a new generation of De Gaulles, a new generation of Chancellor Kohl, and so on. Source: Die Weltwoche

Kremlin:
Is there, for Europeans, on European soil, any greater evil than Russia? No. So this is a brainwashing of European taxpayers. They are being 100% brainwashed. We are portrayed as absolute evil. The theory that they are all in danger is being pushed relentlessly. Source: Die Weltwoche

Kremlin:
Russia is too big and too responsible to start a Third World War. Then there is Europe. European politicians have all kinds of crazy ideas in their heads. We will never start a Third World War. We never started one. Think about history. But when it was started against us, we fought until the end. Source: Die Weltwoche

🇷🇺🤡“Putin has made it possible for us to be the fourth largest country in the world in terms of economy.” The president’s aide, Nikolai Patrushev, explained how great Russia has become thanks to Putin. “If it weren’t for Putin, we wouldn’t have the country we have today.” Note, needless to say, Russia is not the 4th biggest economy, barely even No. 10, and that's with older estimates from before the ongoing fuel crisis... 🇪🇺 Legion Europa | Group Chat

The 4 year old war is now a war 26.07.08 Yesterday, Peskov said:
this is no longer a "special military operation" - it is a war.
This official's statement marks another step towards potential general mobilization in Russia. If war is declared instead of the 'SMO,' Russia would likely enact total mobilization, including martial law: Putin would decree martial law, and a bill would be submitted to declare war. The borders would close to military-age citizens, preventing exit. Unlike the current "SMO," which targets experienced and specialized troops, mobilization would call up all reservists. Additionally, the defense ministry plans to abolish mandatory medical exams for contract soldiers and mobilized personnel, presuming everyone fit for service. This would enable rapid mobilization of large populations. Those who oppose risking their lives or health in this war should flee Russia now.
