| 2 | iOS 27 has been released. It can even be installed on iPhone 11
This is not about a foldable screen. It's about a seven-year-old phone still being on the list. Siri AI still won't arrive on it: you need an iPhone 15 Pro or newer for that.
What really arrived for everyone:
apps open up to 30% faster, fresh photos in the feed - up to 70%, AirDrop - up to 80%; Liquid Glass slider: glass can be made almost invisible or filled; the volume for ringtones, alarms, and system finally have separate sliders; the network, battery, and stock app icons were redrawn - sharper, with "glass".
In Photos on supported models, you can touch up the edges of the frame and slightly adjust the angle, as if the camera was moved after shooting.
If your phone breaks, there's no need to rush to the computer. The new recovery is like on Mac: held down the power button, Wi-Fi connected automatically, you can repair, update, or erase directly from the screen. Another iPhone nearby can also help out. | 40 |
| 3 | Brazil has removed the consulate from the digital nomad visa
Starting September 1, 2026, the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is issuing temporary visas of category VITEM entirely online. This includes the VITEM XIV — digital nomad visa. Citizens of visa-exempt countries no longer need to go to the consulate and submit their passport. The approval comes via email.
Who can apply this way: those who didn't need a visitor visa VIVIS to enter before. This includes almost all of the EU, the UK, Japan, and a long list of other countries. For those without visa-free travel to Brazil, the old procedure remains unchanged.
How it works: The application goes through Sistema Consular Integrado (SCI). You create an account, choose the necessary VITEM type, upload scans, and submit. The ready electronic document is shown to airlines at check-in and to federal police at the border — from a phone or a printout along with your passport.
The conditions for VITEM XIV haven't been eased. Only the logistics have changed.
You need to confirm remote work for a foreign employer or clients. Working for a Brazilian company and invoicing local clients is not allowed under this visa. Income should be at least $1,500 per month or savings of at least $18,000. Plus insurance valid throughout Brazil and documents regarding your status: contract, employer's letter, your declaration that the work can be done remotely.
Validity is 1 year, renewable for another year. Family members can be included. Upon entry, registration with the federal police and a residence card are still required.
Online does not eliminate apostilles, translations, and file requirements: colored scans, usually not exceeding 5 MB. Rejections mostly occur due to technical issues rather than the substance of the documents.
For digital nomads, the purpose is simple. Previously, the bottleneck was one — a slot at the consulate. Now, Brazil is also tapping into the same niche as Colombia and Mexico: living by the ocean for a year or two, working for foreign income, avoiding queues for a stamp.
The visa does not cover taxes. After approximately 183 days in the country, foreign income may be subject to Brazilian rules. This is a separate calculation, not part of the visa application. | 26 |
| 4 | Today is the 12th day; how digital ruble has started working in Russia. The safest, central bank-controlled form of money.
However, scammers are not sleeping, they have already begun massively deceiving Russians under the pretext of mandatory transfer of savings into digital rubles.
This was reported by the press service of the "Moshelovka" platform of the People's Front.
"The scammers assure that all non-cash rubles in accounts and deposits from September 1 are 'obliged to be converted into digital ruble.' If this is not done, their savings could allegedly 'burn'." - the organization shared. This is being reported.
Scammers call citizens and send messages in secure messengers, pretending to be employees of the Central Bank, commercial banks, or the "Gosuslugi" portal.
They then offer to open a digital wallet via a "safe link" that leads to a phishing site.
After following such a link, the money of the potential victim may end up in drop accounts.
Citizens can open wallets for digital rubles from September 1. Currently, this option is only available to Android device owners.
Apple staunchly refuses to let iPhone users dive into the world of secure; full of scammers underground messenger and central bank-controlled digital fraud. | 38 |

| 6 | Meta launched Muse. The agent books flights and pays. The rock band had their name taken away
On September 8th, Meta launched Muse - a personal agent that not only responds, but takes action: sends emails, schedules meetings, books tickets, fills out forms, shops, and can make payments. It works in the US, from 18 years old, in the iOS and Android app, on the muse.ai website, and on WhatsApp. Glasses are promised later.
There is a free tariff. Paid options are Power for $20 and Maximum for $100 per month. Meta's AI Chief Alexander Wang says: most people will be fine with the free version, the paid one covers the hardware bill.
The architecture consists of a separate cloud machine for each user, Secure VM with its own browser. Next to it is a second agent, Sentinel: it does not connect to Muse's network and services without its permission. According to the company, the agent does not see passwords and cards. It must ask for permission before sending an email or making a purchase. There are no ads inside, Meta claims that the dialogues don't go to Meta's ad systems. By default, chats can be used for training models - this can be turned off. Before the end of the year, they promise a Confidential VM, where the key belongs solely to the user.
The launch came two weeks after the multi-billion global Meta with its teams in social networks. Some employees complained about security flaws before the release. Bug bounties go up to $300 thousand.
Concurrently, another brand popped up. The British band Muse registered its name back in 1999. After the agent was launched, its handles on Instagram and X turned out to be linked to Meta's product.
The question is not whether the agent can buy a ticket. The question is - will you let Meta into your mail, calendar, and map. | 48 |

| 9 | OpenAI and Anthropic researcher resigns. Reason - fear that AI will destroy humanity
Jacob Colson worked on pre-training models in both labs for three years. Yesterday he wrote: companies are not acting responsibly. They are striving towards a self-improving superintelligence and playing with lives.
His wording is harsher than press releases: the people who are building this seriously believe that AI could kill everyone by the end of the decade. This is not marketing. They soften it on camera. Not in the smoking area.
The logic behind the race is simple. Risks are better understood at Anthropic. They are afraid to stop: the neighboring company will be the first to build a superintelligence.
More important than the resignation is that the current head of alignment at Anthropic, Evan Hubinger, publicly agreed. He puts the likelihood of AI destroying humanity in the next ten years at over 10%. Current models, he says, are relatively safe. The fear is recursive self-improvement. There is no ready plan on how to contain superintelligence. And the trajectories towards such a plan are not visible either. | 59 |
| 10 | Urgent news: GPT-6 Astra has just passed ALL 48 levels of the "I am not a robot" CAPTCHA.
OpenAI engineer Sharif Shamim watched as Astra navigated through all the existing CAPTCHA challenges, which range from simple image recognition to parking, chess, puzzles, and interactive UI challenges.
Astra completed all tasks designed to distinguish between humans and bots, utilizing its computer abilities to understand what is happening on the screen and directly perform actions.
If you have not yet realized what has happened, the world has become less secure from today onwards. Any user of GPT-6 Astra can now crack any existing CAPTCHA in the world. This means they can write any exploits to bypass CAPTCHA and launch attacks on any websites.
Credit must be given to security engineers; figuratively speaking, they are not sleeping and are continuously working to enhance security measures.
As traditional CAPTCHAs (ReCAPTCHA v2, hCaptcha) are increasingly being hacked by automation, the industry is shifting towards behavioral analysis (e.g., ReCAPTCHA v3 or Cloudflare Turnstile).
These methods work seamlessly for users, analyzing mouse movements, browser history, IP address, and other parameters to differentiate between humans and bots without the need to click on images.
However, as you may have already understood, all these tactics will not stop GPT-6 Astra, as it is constantly active, decoding every trick faster than they can be devised.
The initial models of Chat GPT were ridiculed by cybersecurity experts, claiming things like: "Your AI won't even be able to pass a CAPTCHA, what kind of intelligence is that?" But with the emergence of GPT-6 Astra, cybersecurity professionals are no longer laughing.
Moreover, not only can the new AI models crack any CAPTCHA, but they now prevent the creation of anything new that could stay functional for even a couple of hours.
Now that Astra is available not only to cybersecurity companies and white hats but also to nefarious actors, including the Lazarus Group (a well-known state-sponsored hacking group operating for North Korea's intelligence services), the situation is concerning.
When Klaus Schwab predicted to us a "massive cyberattack" followed by a blackout, it was funny. Now, not so much. | 53 |
| 12 | Sam Altman confirmed that OpenAI is building a humanoid robot
The head of OpenAI directly stated that the company will not only create "brains" for other machines but also its own humanoid.
During the Sources podcast, he was asked if the robots at OpenAI would be human-like or for data centers. The answer was brief: "Both. We will definitely make a humanoid. And other form factors as well."
Altman's logic is simple. The world is already built for humans: doors, keyboards, machines, kitchens. Therefore, at least some of the robots should mimic the human silhouette, otherwise, the entire environment would need to be redesigned.
According to him, the main challenge is not the body but the intelligence that controls this body: "All of this is less important than figuring out how the robot’s brain works."
He doesn't see a household robot as the top priority. First comes infrastructure and production. However, the long-term goal is firm: "Someday, yes. I think everyone should have a personal robot."
This is not yet a product announcement. There's no prototype, pricing, date, or partner factory. But OpenAI is already hiring engineers for actuators, boards, thermal calculations, and firmware — meaning they are assembling hardware, not just software.
The company is entering a field where Tesla, Figure, and others are already working. The difference lies in OpenAI's aspiration to control both the model and the body.

| 13 | Audi brings back the A2. 21 years after the model was taken off the assembly line - now as an electric car
This is the most affordable electric Audi. The old A2 was an aluminum marvel of economy. The new one is playing the same card: a drag coefficient of 0.24 and consumption starting from 12.8 kWh per 100 km. The company itself calls it the most economical Audi in history.
The top of the line offers 326 hp and goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds. But it's not the one with the longest range: the version with 231 hp and an 84 kWh battery can go the furthest at 646 km according to WLTP. The motor is in the rear, with rear-wheel drive, and shares a platform with the VW ID.3.
In Germany, the price starts at around €38,200. Orders can be placed starting from September 10, with the first cars expected by December.
The name is old. The question remains the same about interior space: will the "most affordable Audi" be enough for people to want a small car again? | 63 |

| 15 | In Laos, you can rent not a cottage, but a hammock over an abyss.
Three hundred meters above the gorge at the Tad Fane waterfall, the highest in the country. During the day, people zip-line across and drink coffee in the air. In the evening, they hang a sleeping bag on a rope: below is the waterfall, above are the stars.
The night costs around $200. Dinner and breakfast are included. To keep from falling down in their sleep, guests are fastened with insurance.

| 16 | The simplest task from the boss on the day off: | 1 |
| 17 | Thailand. From September 15, visa-free stay is 30 days again, not 60
The special 60-day regime that was granted to citizens of about 93 countries since July 2024 is being cancelled. The new rules will start from September 15, 2026. Until this date, 60 days are still given at the border.
What's changing:
• Most countries, including Russia, USA, EU, UK, Australia - visa-free stay of 30 days.
• Seychelles and Mauritius - 15 days.
• Visa on Arrival is being limited; countries like Azerbaijan, Belarus, Serbia remain on the list.
• Those already in the country on a 60-day stamp can complete their stay. There is no retroactive effect.
• DTV, LTR, Privilege, work, pension - remain unchanged.
Why: in May, the government decided to close the gap for visa-runners, nominal tourists, and those living in the country for months. The usual package vacation (~9 days) is almost unaffected.
For Russians, the visa-free stay is not being canceled - they are simply returning to the old 30-day limit under a bilateral agreement. | 111 |
| 18 | Perplexity has released an AI agent that runs entirely on your computer
Portable Computer runs models, tools, and the entire agent system locally. It can read files, search through documents and code, execute commands, and perform long tasks without sending data to the cloud.
Inside, Qwen 3.8 27B and a special PPLX 27B are at work. Local tasks do not consume Perplexity credits.
If the agent needs internet access or a more powerful cloud model, it first seeks permission. Google Drive, Gmail, Slack, and GitHub are supported.
For now, Portable Computer is available to Pro and Max subscribers on NVIDIA DGX Spark running Linux. Support for regular computers with NVIDIA RTX and Windows will be available later.

| 19 | In Vietnam, a legal cryptocurrency market is about to launch
Five companies have already passed the first selection stage to launch licensed cryptocurrency exchanges according to information. No license has been issued yet.
Starting from September 1, fines of up to 50 million dong (~$1900) will be imposed for violations in cryptocurrency trading. However, investors will not be immediately fined for using unlicensed platforms.
Trading in Vietnam will only be allowed through licensed platforms six months after the first license is issued. | 90 |
| 20 | Not many have noticed one thing about Bitcoin that I consider highly underrated: Silent Payments (BIP-352).
The concept is quite wild from the historical Bitcoin perspective, but absolutely necessary in our current circumstances. You can publish a single permanent Bitcoin address that starts with sp1q... and distribute it to everyone or simply publish it online for donations.
Unlike a classic Bitcoin address, this address cannot simply be copied into an explorer and reveal everything you have received. Technically, when someone sends you BTC, they are not paying directly to your sp1q... address.
Their wallet uses the cryptographic data of your Silent Payment and the transaction to create a unique Taproot output. So, if 10 people send you Bitcoin, the blockchain will see 10 different outputs, with no obvious public link between them.
Your wallet can recognize those belonging to you, thanks to the scanning key. And this is a great idea: a permanent Bitcoin identity you can openly display without turning your financial history into public information.
Of course, this doesn't make Bitcoin completely anonymous, and you can still create visible connections by spending your UTXO incorrectly. But for the purpose of receiving payments, the concept is incredibly elegant.
You can test this directly with Cake Wallet. Silent Payments / BIP-352. Clearly, this is a Bitcoin feature that almost no one has ever heard of.
However, in a world of fragmentation where American regulators may label cryptocurrencies as red and render them non-payable, or when accusatory judgments come to your wallet for public donations, the idea is just wonderful. | 88 |
