The Spokeswoman of the Ministry of National Defence of the Kingdom of Cambodia, wishes to inform the public as well as members of national and international media as follows:
On 09 July, 2026, at 13:00 p.m., at Techo International Airport, the Officers of Department of International Relations and Cambodia Liaison Group (CLG) of the Kingdom of Cambodia has warmly welcomed the arrival of two officers from Vietnam, COL. PHUNG THANH QUANG and COL. LY THANH TAM. These officers join the ASEAN Observers Team (AOT) in the Kingdom of Cambodia to observe, verify, and report on the border situation following the implementation of the ceasefire.
Cambodia has always continues to provide its full support to the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT), emphasizing the essential need to strengthen the AOT's role and mandate. This ensures the ceasefire and agreed measures between Cambodia and Thailand are implemented fully and effectively. By welcoming friendly nations to assist in this task, Cambodia aims to promote transparency, accountability, and mutual trust.
The Royal Government and the Ministry of National Defence of Cambodia reaffirm our firm, sincere, and unwavering commitment to fully and faithfully respect and implement the Joint Statement of the Third Special Meeting of the Cambodia–Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) on December 27, 2025, the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand on October 26, 2025, and all other relevant agreements. This commitment is made with the aim of ensuring rapid recovery and restoring normalcy, and long-lasting peace and stability.
The public, as well as national and international journalists, are hereby informed of the facts regarding this matter.
