Slide 2 shows drone footage from CU, where CJNG sicarios can be observed fleeing, as they abandon the same vehicle.

Pictures have recently surfaced showing Chinese drone detectors in the hands of gang members in Rio de Janeiro.
The use of drones by these gangs, for both surveillance purposes and direct strikes, has sharply increased over the last few years. As a result, the gangs invested in C-UAS systems, such as backpack based jammers, several of which have been recovered by authorities.
And now, drone detectors have been spotted used by gang members. Slide 1, reportedly posted by a member of the Third Pure Command (TCP), shows a Vodasafe HL2 Pro seen next to a custom painted FAL pattern rifle.
Slide 2, reportedly posted by a Red Command (CV) member in the Penha complex, shows another Vodasafe HL2 Pro being used to scan for enemy drones. A rifle is also visible.
Using the display of both drone detectors, a rough geolocation of these pictures can be made, both consistent with territory held by the respective gangs.

Shown here are sicarios of the Caballeros Templarios cartel, which is not as influential as they once were but still active. These sicarios are under the command of El Vampiro, going by Fuerzas Especiales Vampiro (FEV).
Slide 1 shows several sicarios, one notably armed with a CZ 805 Bren. This is an uncommon weapon for cartels, but has been seen before with the Carteles Unidos in Michoacán (which happened to be Mexican SEDENA weapons - old post). The 805 can be seen again in slide 3.
FEV sicarios can be seen in slide 2 with another uncommon weapon, a HK G36E. These were used by government forces in the 2000s, which the sale of 4500 G36 rifles was later deemed illegal with HK being fined in the millions.
The rifles were linked to atrocities such as the disappearance of 43 students in Iguala, Guerrero in 2014. A number of these rifles also ended up in cartel hands unsurprisingly. | 1 386 |

It features a rotating turret up top, fitted with a Browning M2 heavy machine gun. These are a common choice for turrets on cartel up armoured vehicles, as are Browning M1919s or Barrett anti materiel rifles.

To add to yesterday’s post, these two pictures (obtained by Submundo Criminal) add a little more context about the Red Command (CV 🚩) gang member seen with a craft made .50 cal.
Slide 1 shows him again, with another homemade .50 cal of the same design. Though, this one is tan in colour, has a shorter barrel and a vertical foregrip.
Slide 2 shows a closeup of the black “El Chapo” .50 cal seen yesterday, as well as a FAL on a sling.
“El Chapo” is in reference to high ranking CV trafficker Manoel Cinquine Pereira, aka Paulista da Penha (slide 3). The CV member pictured is reportedly a member of his inner security team.
It is interesting to see that CV has at least two of these rifles. The uniformity of their design suggests a single manufacturer, and that there are likely more in circulation.

In this picture, a member of the Comando Vermelho (CV) can be seen, holding what appears to be a craft made bolt action .50 cal.
The magazine and barrel appear to be original parts from a Barrett anti materiel rifle. Would be interesting to see how well it holds up 🤨. They have also added a regular AR stock and a bipod.
“El Chapo” can be seen painted on the magwell, along with “No surrender” on the optic.
Based on the emojis used, the barefoot gunman is possibly a member of the Red Command’s Tropa do Urso (Bear Troop 🚩🐻). Most likely, the picture was taken somewhere in the Penha complex, which is a particular stronghold for CV. | 1 104 |
