For some context a Somali soldier makes around 200 USD a month if he's lucky. Which means the companies are demanding the equivalent of 90 months or 7.5 years of pay to not demolish the homes
The families of the soldiers unable to pay are expelled by the companies who destroy the homes to make room for new construction projects
When the disgruntled soldiers and also civilian inhabitants confronted the companies on it they contacted the government and sent in the army to crush the protests
This has led to near daily clashes in Mogadishu
