Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on their own struggles with relational challenges, their place within the movement, and their disappointments and frustrations in the movement. The workshop will also focus on helping participants build the skills and confidence needed to de-escalate conflict, address harm, and attempt repair at various levels and stages of conflict. 20 people showed up at the State Courts today, in solidarity with Jolovan Wham. "The prosecution can pile on as many charges on me as they want. But it will not detract us from what is at stake, which is that The system has no compassion, no mercy, and insists on hanging those on death row, giving no second chances. The prosecutor has blood in their hands, we all have blood on our hands. This has to be in our collective conscience. That's all I have to say," he said at the stand. Prosecution asked for a 6-week adjournment as the IO from Bedok Division wants more time to finalise it's recommendations and address the AGC. Jolovan's next hearing is set for 13 May, 9am. Singapore Police investigating Kirsten Han and others over 3 February State Courts gathering Freelance journalist Kirsten Han has disclosed a new police investigation against her, believed to be linked to a gathering outside the State Courts on 3 February in support of activist Jolovan Wham. To honour these lives, the Transformative Justice Collective had planned interfaith prayers and readings of spiritual texts for Pannir and his family, but NParks prohibited us from having any sort of prayer or religious reference. This, along with the investigations into the vigils, is a denial of the people’s right even to grieve! The police is currently investigating 15 Singaporeans for vigils held for Rosman and Masoud (may they rest in power). One of whom, Jolovan Wham, is facing five charges under the Public Order Act. His next hearing is scheduled for 9.30AM next Tuesday (1 April) at the State Courts. The courts are open to the public. We hope to see you there in solidarity. The people deserve to grieve, especially when these lives were taken by our state in our names and with our money. No more blood on our hands, please.

Since February 2024, the Singapore government has executed 12 people – Ahmed Salim, Mohammad Azwan bin Bohari, Rosman bin Abdullah, Masoud Rahimi bin Mehrzad, Syed Suhail bin Syed Zin, and 7 other brothers, sons, and fathers. On 19 February 2025, we held a memorial for them, grieving together in community. We gathered around the tombstones and offered flowers to pay our respects to the lives that have been taken by the gallows, holding and honouring each of them. We also wrote words of love, strength, honor, courage on the banner for Pannir Selvam Pranthaman, who was scheduled to be executed the next morning but managed to get it postponed. On 19 Feb 2025, more than 200 people gathered to protest against the death penalty, and honoured the lives of 12 brothers who have been executed since February 2024: Ahmed Salim, Mohammad Azwan bin Bohari, Rosman bin Abdullah, Masoud Rahimi bin Mehrzad, Syed Suhail bin Syed Zin, and 7 other brothers, sons, and fathers. At the rally, we learned that Pannir Selvam, who was scheduled to be executed the next day, had gotten a stay of execution. He got to live another day, and many more since then. But his sentence remains, and around 50 other people remain on death row in Changi Prison. Our fight continues -- only the abolition of the death penalty can save the lives of our fellow people. It’s Budget season and time to look at the numbers! Budget allocations give us a sense of what our government’s priorities are, so a group of us decided to take a look at how much the Ministry of Home Affairs estimates it will spend on drug enforcement and prisons—two big programmes closely related to the war on drugs. The estimated budget for the Central Narcotics Bureau and Singapore Prison Service in FY2025 is more than $1 billion, much of which is going towards implementing Singapore’s war on drugs. Stay of execution granted as over 200 gather in vigil for Pannir Selvam Pranthaman A candlelight vigil was held at Speakers’ Corner in Hong Lim Park on 19 February 2025, in memory of Pannir Selvam Pranthaman and the 12 individuals executed in Singapore over the past year. The gathering, attended by over 200 people, was marked by speeches, songs, and calls for an end to the death penalty. Last night, as TJC’s vigil was about to wind down, Pannir’s family received a call from the prison telling them that he’s been granted a stay of execution. It was the miracle we all hoped for. Today, Pannir lives. Pannir Selvam’s family files complaint against lawyer, alleges misconduct and law society inaction The family of Pannir Selvam, a Malaysian facing execution in Singapore on 20 February 2025, has lodged a complaint with the Law Society of Singapore against lawyer Ong Ying Ping, alleging misconduct. Malaysian MPs call for intervention in Pannir Selvam’s impending execution in Singapore Malaysian MPs and Amnesty International are urging the government to intervene in Pannir Selvam’s scheduled execution in Singapore on 20 February. MP Ramkarpal Singh stressed that Pannir could assist Malaysian police in investigating his recruiter. As a death row prisoner, Pannir’s freedoms and access to resources are heavily restricted. He hasn’t let that stop him from using his voice. He’s fought bravely against the death penalty for many years, not just for himself but also for other prisoners on death row in Changi Prison. Pannir Selvam Pranthaman and his family were informed on Sunday morning that the Singapore Prison Service intends to carry out his execution on Thursday morning—giving them a mere four days' notice to rush from Malaysia to Singapore. Since June 2024, the authorities have given reduced notification periods to prisoners who had previously received execution notices (that were then stayed). I cannot see any reason for this change in protocol except for petty viciousness. But beyond that, it's just fundamentally depraved to even try to determine how much is 'enough' time to give a human being notice of their imminent murder. https://www.wethecitizens.net/struggling-against-time/
