With the shame and punishment embedded in how we understand and perform "accountability" today, many of us have/had become conflict avoidant — myself included. It was refreshing to share this space with 20+ attendees this afternoon as we reflected on how we may deepen our relationships with ourselves and others through Transformative Justice (TJ) practices. I left the session hopeful and excited that we'll grow a culture of inviting feedback, and of navigating pains skillfully. Thank you, IndigNation for having me, and all of you for joining me this afternoon, as we practise shifting away from punishment, away from conflict avoidance, and towards accountability, towards gentler futures.
