Al Hosn is a mixed Sunni-Christian town that overlooks the Valley of the Christians. Sunnis including fighters crossing from Lebanon sided with Jund al Sham while Christians armed themselves and fought them alongside the government. The "shabiha" are most definitely referring to the Christians. This is sectarian incitement.

These two officials from the Damascus regime pleaded with the Taliban to agree to host foreign fighters on their territory, particularly those from Turkestan, who had fled Syria. Many of these foreign fighters, after being pressured by the Damascus regime, began leaving Syria for Afghanistan via smuggling routes. This regime is selling out its own fighters who supported it in the revolution in order to fulfill the demands of America and Britain and remain in power.

Following Jolani’s father’s insults toward the people of Deir Ezzor and his son’s failed attempts to apologize, the people of eastern Syria continue to protest against the Syrian Transitional Government. In Raqqa, protests are fueled by the authorities’ plans to demolish homes north of the railroad tracks and west of the Hazima traffic circle in the city of Raqqa (a phenomenon also occurring in Tartus against the Alawites), and in Hasakah by rising prices. At the same time, a clash in Yarubiyah between the STG and tribal forces left one dead and two wounded, raising concerns about a possible tribal mobilization to take control of the area.

Kobani under Damascus’s control. 🇸🇾
On May 17, the SDF/YPG transferred administrative control of the city to the Syrian Transitional Government as part of the integration agreement reached in late January. This followed weeks of joint deployment by security forces from the Ministry of the Interior and the Asayish.
Kobani District Director Ibrahim Muslim began carrying out his duties from within the city for the first time, operating from the headquarters designated for the district administration.
Both sides discussed mechanisms for managing civilian affairs and ways to ensure the success of the administrative and security integration process, to strengthen stability and improve administrative and service operations in the city and surrounding countryside.
For the first time since 2012, Kobani is under the direct control of the Damascus authorities.
