🇮🇱❌🇸🇾 — Israeli airstrikes target Abu Al-Duhur airbase in Idlib.
| 2 | The young woman, #Marimar_Alan_Yaacoub, was kidnapped on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Hosh al-Umara area of Zahle. Her whereabouts remain unknown.
Marimar and her family are originally from the Syrian governorate of Al-Hasakah, but currently reside in the Hosh al-Umara area of Zahle, Lebanon.
According to her father, the family received threats from a person identifying himself as #Abu_Muhammad_al-Alawi, a Syrian national residing in the Cedars area of Lebanon. He contacted the family via WhatsApp from a Lebanese number, issuing threats.
The family stated that among these threats was his promise to marry Marimar to a man living in the Al-Abbasiya neighborhood of Homs.
Information has also been received about a Lebanese car suspected of being connected to the kidnapping, bearing license plate number 70094473.
The family is appealing to the security forces and relevant authorities in Lebanon for help in determining their daughter's fate and ensuring her safety.
The family is completely devastated and unable to file a complaint because they entered Lebanon illegally. They don't know what to do. A man named Abu Muhammad Al-Alawi is pressuring and provoking them with threatening and mocking voice messages because they can't do anything to him since they entered illegally or face deportation. The girl is still being held captive, and they don't know where she is or what has happened to her.

تنحدر الشابة ماريمار وعائلتها من محافظة الحسكة السورية، فيما تقيم العائلة حاليًا في منطقة حوش الأمراء بمدينة زحلة في لبنان.
وبحسب والدها، تلقت العائلة تهديدات من شخصًا يُعرّف عن نفسه باسم #أبو_محمد_العلوي، وهو سوري الجنسية ويقيم في منطقة الأرز في لبنان، يتواصل مع العائلة عبر تطبيق واتساب من رقم لبناني ويوجّه إليها تهديدات.
وبحسب إفادة العائلة، فإن من بين هذه التهديدات قوله إنه سيقوم بتزويج الشابة من شخص يقيم في حي العباسية بمدينة حمص.
كما وردت معلومات عن سيارة لبنانية يُشتبه في ارتباطها بعملية الاختطاف، وتحمل لوحة رقم: 70094473
وتناشد العائلة القوى الأمنية والجهات المعنية في لبنان، المساعدة في كشف مصير إبنتهم والتأكد من سلامتها.
العائلة منهارة بالكامل ولا تستطيع تقديم شكوى بسبب دخولهم الى لبنان بطريقة غير شرعية، لا يعرفون ماذا يفعلون، والمدعو أبو محمد العلوي، يضغط عليهم ويستفزهم برسائل صوتية تهديد وسخرية منهم لأنهم لا يستطيعون أن يفعلوا معه شيء كونهم دخلوا بطريقة غير شرعية او سيواجهون الترحيل، ومازالوا يحتجزون الفتاة حتى الآن ولا يعرف أي هي أو ماذا حل بها.

As this year’s blessed feast season approaches, it comes while a number of our sons continue to be arbitrarily detained without any legal justification, and without being granted any judicial rights, despite our continuous appeals to the security and judicial authorities and the repeated promises that the detainees would be released due to the absence of any evidence supporting the accusations against them.
At the same time, our people from Saidnaya continue to face degrading treatment at the border crossing (the newly established Yabous crossing), where every person from Saidnaya is stopped for several hours, photographed, and their photo is sent for review before they are eventually allowed to pass—without any consideration for the elderly or women.
Furthermore, we continue to witness ongoing incitement, intimidation, and threats against the town’s residents through social media, as well as repeated provocations targeting the town’s youth by individuals described as “electronic flies”. This comes in addition to the deteriorating security situation, marked by increasing thefts and kidnappings in recent times.
Therefore, the pastoral committees representing all Christian denominations in Saidnaya, together with the Reverend Fathers George Najmeh, Fadioul Najar, and Taher Youssef, have decided the following:
To cancel all public celebrations of the Feast of the Transfiguration, the Feast of the Holy Cross, and the Feast of Hagia Sophia for this year, limiting observances to liturgical services held inside the churches.
To continue suspending all public celebrations and activities until our detained sons are released and the kidnapped individuals are returned, particularly through closing the Saidnaya file, ending the targeting of our youth with baseless accusations, and halting these practices.
Justice must be impartial rather than selective. It is preferable that all cases be opened and all those responsible regardless of who they are be held accountable, accompanied by genuine reconciliation with the past that is consistent with the aspiration to build a new Syria founded on justice, citizenship, and freedom.
The people of Saidnaya will exercise all constitutional rights available to every Syrian citizen and will express their views in the civilized manner for which they are known, should they conclude that legal and legislative avenues have been exhausted, in order to secure the return of our people and the protection of our rights. | 7 993 |

إن الاعتداء الغادر الأخير على طريق المشوار في السقيلبية ليس حدثاً معزولاً، بل هو حلقة في سلسلة طويلة ومتكررة من المضايقات والانتهاكات التي تطال القرى والبلدات المسيحية إن هذه الممارسات تصب مباشرة في خانة "سياسات التطفيش الناعمة" والضغط الممنهج على المجتمعات المسيحية بكافة طوائفها وإثنياتها، لدفعها قسراً نحو الهجرة وإفراغ المشرق من أقدم مكوناته الأصيلة.

We are monitoring with grave concern the alarming news emerging from the Greek Orthodox (Rûm) city of Al-Suqaylabiyah in the Hama countryside. The town was subjected a little while ago to a treacherous attack and gunfire by armed groups originating from Qalat al-Madiq, aimed at terrorizing civilians and assaulting our Christian youth on "Al-Mishwar" road, escalating to a grenade deployment before the perpetrators fled under a current state of cautious calm.
We issue an urgent appeal and an open outcry to the international community, the UN Security Council, and global human rights organizations to intervene immediately and fulfill their humanitarian and legal obligations regarding what the Christian community in Syria is enduring in general and we specifically appeal to Greece regarding what it faces and what the historical fortresses and strongholds of the Greek Orthodox (Romioi), such as the city of Al-Suqaylabiyah (Hama countryside), are experiencing in particular from recurring armed attacks and systematic intimidation that threaten their historical existence on the land of their ancestors.
The recent treacherous attack on "Al-Mishwar" road in Al-Suqaylabiyah is not an isolated incident; rather, it is a prominent link in a long, recurring chain of harassment and violations targeting Christian villages and towns. These practices fall directly under "soft displacement policies" and systematic pressure exerted on Christian societies across all denominations and ethnicities, designed to force them into exile and strip the Levant of its oldest indigenous fabric.
Numerous international and human rights reports continuously confirm that the Christian community in Syria endures severe waves of kidnappings, financial extortion, targeted assassinations, and daily terror. In light of this bleak reality, we state unequivocally that these recurring events expose the absolute failure of the current government to provide basic protection and secure a safe environment for Christian citizens.
