A clip taken by a Russian soldier🇷🇺 on a resupply mission along the frontlines I found 🎥. He and his team travel in a light and relatively fast vehicle, which is now common practice on both sides because speed is the only thing that helps you escape from FPV drones 🏎️. They are constantly harassed by Ukrainian 🇺🇦FPV drones, which the guy filming here tries to shoot down multiple times with his shotgun (I cut these parts out as nothing really happens there besides that) 🔫. At one point, they come to a halt and are again targeted by a Ukrainian drone — this time successfully 💥. The cameraman barely manages to escape by jumping into an overgrown area next to the road 🌿. He comes out to see their vehicle heavily damaged, secures an AK-pattern rifle from the wreck, and him and his team get into a new car to probably drive off quickly, as there certainly are other Ukrainian drones in the area already on the way to hit them as well 🚗💨. A lot of times, scenes like these end tragically for both sides, because the frontline — especially the grey zone between the frontlines — is saturated with drones ❗️ that even go for single soldiers on foot, a problem not really experienced in any wars before, where good spacing would most likely protect you in many cases. 📽️ 🇷🇺 🇺🇦 - When Waterloo was filmed in 1970, the Soviet government backed the production, providing around 15,000 infantrymen and 2,000 cavalrymen from the Red Army to recreate Napoleon’s final battle. Before filming even began, the soldiers spent months learning Napoleonic marching drills, musket handling, and battlefield formations. The set wasn’t in Belgium though, it was built in Soviet Ukraine near Uzhhorod. Engineers bulldozed hills, laid miles of roads, planted thousands of trees and crops, and even installed underground irrigation to create the muddy conditions seen on screen. When you watch those massive squares of infantry and cavalry charges, you’re not looking at CGI or camera tricks. You’re watching thousands of real Soviet soldiers carrying out carefully choreographed maneuvers, making Waterloo one of the largest practical battle scenes ever put on film.
