Hand embroidered swastika earrings. I can’t decide if I want to keep or sell these yet.

I draw inspiration for a lot of my work from my cultural heritage. Although a lot of my creations are centered more around Scandinavian folk art being that I’m primarily Norwegian (and was raised in that culture) I am also Celtic and Anglo-Saxon. I’m going to make an effort to explore these other parts of my heritage regarding my creative works in the future. 🇳🇴🇸🇪🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇮🇪

Trying my hand at German Brick Stitch embroidery. German brick stitch is the modern name given to a counted stitch method that flourished in northern Europe from the late thirteenth through the fifteenth centuries. Based on the surviving pieces, brick stitch was used to decorate religious clothing, containers, furnishings (including wall hangings and cushions), and purses.

Tried to capture that gold sparkle.

A custom pair of embroidered earrings for a dear friend and fellow artist. This pair is adorned with silver accents and Elder Futhark runes. Drawing on her heritage, I chose a red thread as this color is significant in both Germanic and Slavic folk arts. Creating something for another talented woman and friend who has supported me in my creative endeavors brings joy to my heart. 💞 I will be releasing a few more pairs of these embroidered earrings in the next few weeks as new ideas come to me.
