We are sending this email to share with you the IFMSA survey on Planetary Health in Medical Education to start the data collection process, which will last for one month. Planetary health is a rapidly evolving field that focuses on the interconnections between human health and the health of the planet. It recognizes that the health of humans is closely linked to the health of ecosystems and the natural environment. Integrating planetary health into medical education is crucial to prepare future healthcare professionals to proactively work toward the prevention of and protection against the health challenges posed by climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution. Thus, it is important to analyze whether planetary health is currently sufficiently considered in medical education and identify solutions for the way forward towards better integration This research project aims are to: • Determine the current situation of planetary health in medical education and the satisfaction of students towards the current level of integration and assess the main gaps in planetary health education of medical students • Gather quantitative  and qualitative data on planetary health in medical education which can support IFMSA’s advocacy in this area. Our survey has received technical input from the WHO unit on Policies and Interventions for Environment and Health and we rely on YOU to fill this survey and disseminate it with as many students as possible to gather data that will help us lead evidence-based advocacy towards planetary health in medical education. Interprofessional education is the learning of two or more professions with, from and about one another, aiming toward improved healthcare systems and patient-centered care. This is in contrast to the traditional approach in which health professionals work within their individual silos with little crossover communications. Interprofessional education and collaborative practice has been established to better the access and coordination of health services and outcomes. With the increased use of technology and the possibility of collaboration between individuals virtually, this survey was created by the IPECP SWG with inputs from IPSF and the SCOME IT to understand the transition of IPECP in the curriculum as we move towards post-pandemic recovery. Details on the meeting The delegation will consist of 5 IFMSA members, me, Lucía Pérez Gómez, as the IFMSA Liaison Officer for Medical Sciences and Research Issues and 4 more delegates that are going to be selected in this call. The meeting will happen between the 4th and 7th of November 2023 in Muscat, Omman. The World Federation for Ultrasound in Medicine and Biology(WFUMB) occurs every 2 years, it is one of the most important events for the international community of medical ultrasound, designed for multi-disciplinary professionals. Leading international experts as well as young researchers will present and discuss the latest developments in medical ultrasound. Major topics include latest advances in elastography, portable ultrasound, innovations such as artificial intelligence, 3 D/4D interventions and contrast agents, among others.  The meeting offers workshops, keynote sessions , oral and poster presentations, and networking opportunities.  You can find more information on the WFUMB 2023 Congress website regarding the panelists, external partners, workshops and side events during the conference and here you can find the program. Selection criteria All applications will be evaluated based on the following: • Only students, or those who have the student status within six months before the meeting, are eligible to apply; • Only IFMSA members from active NMOs are eligible to apply; • Experience in the topic of the meeting - state your experience in the field of primary care, medical science and global health as they are the most relevant to the theme. However, if you find other experiences applicable, you can also elaborate on them; • Motivation for participation; • Understanding of IFMSA policy work and IFMSA’s external affairs efforts; • Contribution to the delegation and follow-up plans - for easier understanding, please, refer to the point with objectives of the meetings and delegation tasks that will help you position yourself in the delegation.
